Today we’d like to introduce you to Caige Phoenix.
Hi Caige, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born a super creative being, loving all things in the visual and performing arts. However, becoming a teenage mom prompted me in a different direction. My mother had an insurance agency, in which I worked after school. Being that my mother often stressed how much she needed my help, I decided at 18 to get my license to help her and easily have a stable job to provide for my daughter.
This, however, was not what I desired to truly do. It was not until I was in my mid-thirties that my creative inner being started fighting to break free. That was the beginning of my journey to reconnect with my gifts, find and define my purpose so that I could become who I knew who I was meant to be!
Getting to this particular place in my journey has had many challenges. I went from being a teen mom to a young married woman to a divorced single mom of three, to then four while fighting so many adversities along the way. Nonetheless, I was determined to get to a place where I knew exactly what it was that I was purposed to do.
All of these adversities have truly been a training ground to get me to where I am today. Knowing my purpose, moving forward in it and using my pain as the power to help other women who are where I was.
This journey of healing, self-awareness, and pathway to entrepreneurship has been one of the most difficult in my life. But, in the same breath, it has been the most rewarding. I have seen some very dark times and continue to encounter challenges that some days make me question everything. I want people to know that this is OK! You won’t always feel the best about every part of your journey, but those feelings will pass, and you will succeed if you press forward.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have personally experienced a tremendous amount of trauma, pain and disappointment. Persevering is my only option. What could possibly be ahead of me could only be better than what is behind me. Even in the days, I did not know how I would make it, my gift of being a visionary reminded me that I could. I joke that I went from being an extreme introvert to being a media personality in less than 90 days. Even though I giggle when I say it, it is the absolute truth. It is the result of the intentional work I have done over that last couple of years to heal and better myself so that when the opportunities came, I had no fear to just JUMP.
I made a decision at the lowest point of my life, that I no longer wanted to live IN trauma. I then began to change everything by changing everything! I started transforming my life while in the midst of overcoming my own trauma. My desire is to show and help women overcome trauma and transform their entire life in the process.
When I decided to tag myself as The Lifestyle Architect, it was not just about beautiful things and experiences. I mean, we all want, deserve and shall have those things if we desire. This was about a woman over 40 who was weighed down by anxiety, depression, shame and self-hate. A woman who needed deeper healing and to realize that everything in her life could change if she was intentional about doing so.
I began a process of inner healing, self-discovery and began actively doing the work to completely change everything in my life that did not look the way I wanted it to look. I no longer desired to wait until I “had everything together” to actually live. I realized I could heal, grow, and LIVE at the same time. My heart’s desire is to help other women do the same and work with young girls to help equip them to become masters at making decisions with the hopes of avoiding some of the adversities and trauma that I have encountered.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My brands, Caige Phoenix and InfluencHER, were both birthed out of all of that pain. I help women tap into the most powerful parts of who God created them to be, so they may persevere through their adversities and have the courage to create the life they dream of living. I empower them to realize that they do not have to delay their happiness until they are “trauma free”. You can absolutely be in a process of overcoming and simultaneously LIVE your life!
InfluencHER is a lifestyle network that has mostly consisted of a digital magazine. I started this platform to create a network that was committed to helping women create a joyful, luxurious life through healing, self-love and intentional living. The last year has been quite an experience! We are transitioning the magazine to focus more on creating content that will be displayed online, radio and television. This is something you do not want to miss, so be sure to stay connected to InfluencHER!
Most recently, I launched an online community, “The UnCaiged Life” which is about unleashing your best self and creating the life you dream of in the midst of maneuvering through your storms. Plans for The UnCaiged Life include a podcast, tv shows, summit and so much more! The level of excitement I have for this new phase of my career is hard to put in words. I actually feel like up until this point, I was trying to figure out how my purpose translated into an actual career path. In saying that, it makes me slightly emotional to realize that at 43, after searching and doing the self-work to connect to where I was meant to be that I can finally use the term “CAREER”.
My personal journey with rehabilitating my health and focusing on my well-being has been the inspiration for my newest projects. Body by Phoenix is a part of Caige Phoenix brand influencing women to prioritize themselves and improve their overall health holistically!
Just weeks after my 43rd birthday, I am launching my career as a media personality, speaker and lifestyle/wellness coach. Connecting to this part of my life is also pushing me into becoming an author. I have done co-authored projects but never told my own story. I have seen that my story will be someone else’s survival guide. The busyness of life has kept me from turning that into books, but in taking this step in my career, I am able to now see how I can accomplish that. as well as making it a priority.
What makes you happy?
Happiness has many different definitions; to most it is often described as involving positive emotions and life satisfaction. There is a theory that suggests that happiness can be described as three distinct elements: positive emotion, engagement, and meaning. I personally feel for me these elements offer a more measurable and definitive meaning than happiness itself. Experiencing joy, contentment, and positive well-being intertwined with a sense that our lives are good, meaningful and worthwhile to me offers the experience of living a happy life.
For me, my faith creates the foundation for my happiness. Without faith that all things are good and possible, nothing else matters. Faith fosters hope so that even when things are bleak due to any number of circumstances, I can still believe that despite what I see there is a greater possibility for things to be better.
The deeper I get into my own personal healing journey, I experience greater levels of joy and happiness. Being able to be my true authentic self, connect more with my purpose, pursue the dreams I hold in my heart and operate in that purpose to improve the lives of others helps to define happiness for me.
When I began to stop living IN trauma and focused more on what was ahead and intentionally creating my life to look like what I imagined in my heart, I began to manifest a greater level of joy and happiness.
