Rising Stars: Meet Kevion Devante’

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevion Devante’.

Hi Kevion, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hey, my name is Kevion (KEE-VEE-Yin) Devanté (DEE-VON-TAE). I am a multidisciplinary artist and pioneer of the soul born & raised in Mississippi. I am “InnerG” in motion & my presence has its own kind of sound. On the cliche’, my name literally means, “Handsome Beloved Fighter of Wrong.” (LOL)

I am professionally skilled in the areas of biological sciences, media/photography, modeling, music, yoga and beyond! I began playing my first love, the trumpet, as a child to pave the way for my educational success in higher education; coming from the birthplace and a family of music… and it worked.

During my undergraduate studies, I traveled abroad to learn analytical & biochemistry in Asia and became the first American to study at the second oldest university in the ninth largest county in the world, Kazakhstan as I mentioned before in the previous – VoyageATL – interview. I conducted international scientific research & received academic recognition awards by The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

When I spoke in educational scientific conferences in both the U.S. and Kazakhstan regarding agricultural & ecological issues in the western region of Eurasia; my scientific research was presented in a discussion forum with political figures, professors and researchers about legislative issues, such as economic development, public health, and heritage preservation globally. I became known for the establishment of academic mobility via the HBCU of Mississippi Valley State between the two countries. My research overseas was chosen to be a seasonal reference which granted me the opportunity to assist a leading plant pathologist for the USA-ARS in the Mississippi Delta after graduating in Biology.

Soon after, I continued deeper independent studies in the metaphysics of sound/vibration and other sacred ancient arts. I went on to become certified as a Crystal Reiki Master-Teacher. I began to teach a variety of yoga classes; diving into more esoteric teachings, like chakras and the nature of ‘chi’ in music.

My ambitious perspective of the scientific world changed once again as I innately realized true ‘vitalism’ through my practice of yoga which turned me to study chiropractic in Georgia up until you last heard from me in 2019..

And that’s when EVERYTHING took a huge SHIFT…

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
HELL NAH! Like I said… I’ll always keep it smooth but life will forever naturally be a wavy ride for us all… Ups and downs just as the frequencies of creation & music flow in this reality. It will never be “easy”… Each obstacle became a challenge that took many forms and just like anyone else human… I have indeed faced many criticisms, failures, detours, ignorant intellectual feuds, breakups, misfortunes, losses and some dark nights of the soul…

The past three years during the COVID-19 pandemic turned out to be a surf through a lot of lies, dishonesty, betrayal and mistrust with some of the people I thought I was the closest too, honestly… And at first, it was very heartbreakin’, of course… I received tons of negative energies and commentaries about how I chose to work and live from those I loved the most… my personal outlook and lifestyle choice of spiritual practice and self-sustainability seemed to affect the people who were the most unnaturally dependent on me and bend on creatin’ some severe unhealthy attachments in my life that I was profoundly proud to finally let go of!! The main challenge that remains is to maintain my grounding balance & stability through all the personal noise of others including my own shit…

Even though there has been several defeatin’ moments along my journey; each one of them really turned out to be a win… to really be able to see people and things for what they truly are and to be as great as I am today, every day… Every day, I am able to walk in my unapologetic truth, I will continue to prove to myself worthy that I am that light that will shine through any path.

And yet, again. No matter what, I will always prevail, stand tall, rejoice and reflect love.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
After walkin’ away from my studies at Life University, I decided to further pursue the opportunity to artistically express my realizations of this connectivity within the realms of science & spirituality in southern local communities like no other… and now I realize just how much “LIFE” I am already servin’ at a very high capacity without that degree!

So, I decided to take that leap of faith… and now… I currently work WITH students, doctors, artists, musicians, teachers and many public professionals and business corporations in the U.S., transcending the world of holistic healthcare & wellness for humanity’s sake. I truly stepped more into my divine purpose as a self-realized shamanic practitioner. My musicianship had already taught me the true fundamental essence of “LIFE”. So, teaching and training others in “the ways of LIFE” has become my standing purpose and passion as “The Sound Shaman”.

In my experience, being a Crystal Reiki Master significantly differs from traditional Reiki, as well as general healing. The methodology is a new branch of Reiki combining the use of crystals & stones. Minerals are informed elements (the bones of the planet) from Pachamama (Mother Earth) and can be used to re-tune our energetic biofield or aura. I conduct attunements using musical sound immersion therapy with Tibetan Crystal Singing Bowls, specifically Quartz. I also include an array of other musical instruments during my sound sessions as well such as the Didgeridoo, Kalimba, Ocarina, etc.

Using the most suitable crystals for healing sessions is a critical point in specifying the energy, information and knowledge of our home Planet Earth. I am able to provide much insight about how to handle this ancient technology.

My motto has been, ”Explore the Charge” to elaborate on the benefits of programming crystals and how to do so by incorporating proper vibrational resonance bringing feng shui into the time-space of consciousness.

We all hold the volume to use the elements within and around us to enhance our self-awareness and control of the emotional mind-body’s internal and external stimuli in full sound/vibration and co-creation with “The Higher Power”… We are all connected to that… My work in spiritual guidance and journeying uses psychic intuitions & specific intentions to reflect the imbalances and duality of each “being”.

I was also accredited as a Hatha Yoga Trainer at SWATLYOGA Energy Center. Since then, I’ve continued my work for the past three years at Southwest Atlanta Energy Center with Touré’s Yoga Alliance approved 8-month 200-hour Metaphysical Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Program as an instructor. Toure’ and I also manifested and curated ‘Shamanic Sunday Service ™’ in the Fall of 2019 in the wake of “Livin InnerG”.

My mission with “Livin InnerG” is to integrate my talent of sound into scientific academia for the spiritual advancement of all people. I often orchestrate my sound immersion therapies for my clients using Crystal Reiki.

In this practice, I use what I like to call ‘melodies of tonality’ to attune the chakras and the body’s structure integrity via techniques of psychoacoustics & vibratory brainwave entrainment. I aim to continue to perform sacred ceremonies, healing modalities and offer holistic products, events & services in several locations throughout the world.

For me, it’s all about the balance of LIFE. Since COVID-19, I’ve been stationed “Home in the Woods” in the Mississippi Delta working as a CTE Diversified Agriculture Teacher in the local districts. I still continue to travel back and forth to ATL and some surrounding areas monthly for my specialized work with individuals and select groups. One of my many duties being back in my home state is to bring about the seeds to grow the change in one of America’s poorest, richest environments. The courses I teach in the school systems focuses on providing an opportunity for students to explore the different fields of the agricultural sciences and develop foundational skills and knowledge needed for advancement in ecology, plants, animals, technological mechanization, business and entrepreneurship.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
At the foundation of my spirituality… I am grounded in my faith now as a Naturist. I grew up in southern Baptist culture, yet I became well-versed in my scientific approach. My yogic philosophy is “from the GROUND UP.”

As a shaman, I am naturally a philanthropic human being for the perseverance and global wellness of every single life form. Just… with a more energetic approach to health through learning and further understanding of the nature of spirituality & consciousness. When I got back to the states, I even went vegetarian and never looked back!

Since traveling to Kazakhstan, I’ve continued to seek out ways to improve the quality of life in others as well as my own personal growth. Even though there are several industries I’m involved in, I believe my purpose in healing is far greater than a physical adjustment of the body, which is what I did think at first. Nah… it’s all about the spirit. (mind, body and soul)

I’ve dedicated my time and “InnerG” to help holistically increase life’s potential in every way! In my music, my craft, my everything… It is for the receivers in need of true health & care that I gifted my creativity, time, focus and attention too.
