We recently had the chance to connect with Ayanna Hiré and have shared our conversation below.
Ayanna , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day always include a slow start ,
I intentionally am quiet for the first 30 minutes and then ease into my early routine . Which included drinking tea , meal prepping for the day , and sometimes I write my goals and intentions for the day I have ahead. When I have the most free time a workout is also included.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ayanna Hiré
And I am a freelance hair and makeup artist in the entertainment industry .
Throughout my journey I have had the pleasure and opportunity to establish a career from an early age, I’m currently continuing to build my name within the industry as a freelancer .
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I will say that my parents were always my supporters from providing me a space to thrive within my creativity to sponsoring me until I was able to branch out my own .
My mother has also always been my inspiration and supporter , in my early home I had a in home salon where I took my own clients.
My father also being a barber , I grew up with influences of constantly being around the salon environment. I would see clients leave one way and come another with the most amazing confidence .
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that even through the hardest times it’s important to stay resilient and optimistic of the outcome . It also Taught me that even when things seem like they aren’t moving forward , it’s the time when you are being prepared for the next level.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie that the industry tells itself that we always have to follow trends , or that if you’re not being talked about or in the limelight that you’re not important. But the reality is that even when you think no one is watching thats when the notes are being taken of your progress.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I find the most peace in self . That is the time where I feel the most solitude , that’s when the quiet is the most loud and I’m able to be at one with myself .
