Hi Cassidy, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
The amount of intelligence it takes to be truly successful. It is an incredibly cerebral field that also demands much creativity.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Cassidy Ward. I am a wife, a mama to two energetic, precious boys and two pups! I am the owner and founder of Rooted Salon & Studios located in East Cobb. Our salon is warm, inviting, and offers space for creatives to work behind the chair on a team or in a studio as an independent. We have talented stylists who specialize in color, cutting, extensions, as well as scalp health in our relaxing head spa. We have some other niche services in the works and coming soon!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a quirky and creative girl with a huge imagination. I was full of curiosity and the imagination.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I don’t know if there has been a time I almost gave up but there have been times I have wanted to. There have been times I have questioned what I had gotten myself into and times I doubted myself. Those times still come every now and then. I don’t think being a business owner and leader of people is for the faint of heart. I always remind myself if it were easy then everyone would do it. That may sound cliche but its things like that and keeping a strong faith that help me to overcome the seasons of darkness and doubt.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
One of the most incredible humans I look up to, and have for many years, is Melissa Schleicher. She has built many successful business and is not afraid to be transparent about her life as a multifaceted business guru. She shows up authentically and I think that is what her followers appreciate and find comfort in.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I truly hope people remember how I made them feel and I hope its a positive memory. I do my best to inspire my team and those around me. If it were said that I led people to achieving personal goals and helped them be in touch with their true self then I would consider that a story worth telling.
