An Inspired Chat with Darius Lewis of South West

Darius Lewis shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Darius, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Have you stood up for someone when it cost you something?
I recently lost my job as a Apartment maintenance supervisor and I lived where I also worked I was told on a few occasions to not fraternize with the tenant well it was just one couple husband and wife and we became friends. I would let them borrow my car and they will do the same if I were in a bind I was told several times not to let this happen but I could not stand back and watch my friends needs help and I just stood back and watched, those people helped me in time of need I was fired three weeks ago. It didn’t bother me because if I had to do it all again I wouldn’t change a thing but as soon as I was fired three minutes later, the Hartsfield Jackson airport called me for my interview so now I work at the airport and I also received five dollars more a hour than what I was making as an apartment maintenance supervisor.
Trust god.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Darius Lewis. I’m an actor writer comedian Mental Health advocate executive producer of bright frame productions. I’m a creative entrepreneur, performer, and storyteller who blends comedy, drama, and real-life grit into unforgettable entertainment. From stage to screen, I bring bold characters, sharp improv, and original series to life, all while building platforms like BrightFrame Productions to spotlight fresh voices. My mission is simple—make people laugh, think, and feel, one story at a time.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
God saw me clearly before anyone else could see who I was as a child. No one pampered me. No one console me. No one asked me what I wanted to be when I got old no one cared about my school grades therefore I dropped out in the sixth grade, know one cared about my declining mental health, Therefore, I suffered from childhood trauma my whole life until the age of 30, when I had a horrible motorcycle accident that changed my life forever, No one cared but God because I went through all these horrible stages in my life and I’m still here today given the world laughter through my pain, but God knew that this day would come when no one else didn’t.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
A Father

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie it tells itself is that they love you and the truth is that they hate you, most people won’t even lift a finger to help you up only laugh and kick you while you’re down. That is why bright frame is in a lane of it’s own when it comes to really supporting everyone who comes into our circle, BRIGHTFRAMELLC has partnered with CoCo studios and the sky’s the limit we have a line up of shows on the way

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
My love, support, kindness, happiness and my ability to bring god into everything that I do.
