Jemerris Giles shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Jemerris, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I normally get up at 3:30am and read my bible and then I go shower and by 4:30am I’m starting my first online or in person fitness client and then from there I’m locked in training adult or athletic clients or online doing virtual or in person fitness consultations and I normally wrap up my day by 9 / 9:30pm.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My Name Is Jemerris Giles And I’m 29 Years Old And I’m The Founder And Owner Of “ The 55 “ Gym. I’ve Been A Fitness Trainer For Over Fifteen Years Now And I Hold My Master’s Fitness Trainer Certification And I Also Have A Master’s In Kinesiology And My Doctoral Degree In Exercise Science. I’m Born And Raised In Hampton , Ga And I Started Out My Fitness Training Business At The Age Of Fourteen In My Parents Two Car Garage And For Their GOD Blessed Me To Own Multiple Gyms And Impact My Community Through Fitness And Health And Sports.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The moment I opened up my first gym and I was able to open up doors and create opportunities for other trainers / coaches to start or run their business inside of my gym and help mentor them to becoming more successful and confident at being a gym owner and fitness trainer.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I honestly feel being an entrepreneur you will always have doubts , But that’s apart of the journey and apart of GOD showing you that you have arrived. There will be ups and downs in order to become successful and also for GOD to test your faith in him , But you must keep going and staying the course.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
That they already know it all and their way is the right way always. In order to becoming successful you have to be able to listen and understand that the world is changing daily so in order to stand out and reach your full potential you have to always be able to be a student of the game and listen and watch and learn in order to see things come together for your good.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
No matter if I had it or not I would still find away to bless those around me and always lead a helping hand rather people liked me or not. I just want to see everyone succeed and prosper.
