We recently had the chance to connect with Jessica Tehlirian and have shared our conversation below.
Jessica, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, one of the greatest sources of joy in my life comes from giving back and mentoring the next generation. Through my foundation and personal initiatives, I have the privilege of supporting underrepresented students—helping them access opportunities, funding, and guidance they might not otherwise have. Whether it’s mentoring a student, hosting scholarship events, or connecting young professionals with meaningful experiences, seeing others grow and succeed is deeply rewarding. Knowing that my time and resources can make a tangible difference in someone’s life brings me a sense of fulfillment that nothing else can.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jessica Tehlirian, Founder and Managing Partner of Tehlirian Law Group, a law firm specializing in sports & entertainment law and personal injury. What makes our firm unique is our relentless focus on client advocacy combined with a collaborative team environment—we treat every case as if it’s our own. Beyond the practice of law, I’m passionate about mentorship and giving back through my foundation, which empowers underrepresented students to reach their full potential through funding, guidance, and opportunity. Currently, I’m focused on expanding our impact both in the legal space and in the communities we serve, bridging excellence in client service with meaningful social impact.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has most shaped how I see myself is with my younger sister, Justina. Growing up, I always felt a responsibility to be a role model for her, to show her what dedication, resilience, and integrity look like in action. That desire to lead by example pushed me to work harder, stay focused, and aim higher in both my personal and professional life. Today, that bond has come full circle—Justina now works alongside me at my law firm as Director of PR and Client Relations, and seeing her thrive professionally while contributing to our shared mission continues to inspire me every day.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: “Trust yourself and your path, even when it feels uncertain.” Growing up, I often doubted whether I could achieve my goals or make the impact I wanted. I’d tell myself that every challenge, every setback, and every triumph is shaping the person I’m meant to become—and that I already had the strength, resilience, and vision to get there.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me is making a meaningful impact—both in my work and in the lives of others. I’m deeply committed to advocating for my clients, mentoring young people, and giving back to my community. Beyond accomplishments or recognition, I care most about integrity, relationships, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had only 10 years left, the first thing I would stop doing immediately is wasting energy on things that don’t align with my purpose or bring me joy. That means letting go of unnecessary stress, distractions, or obligations that pull me away from my family, my clients, my team, and the causes I care deeply about. I’d focus fully on creating impact, nurturing meaningful relationships, and leaving a lasting legacy in both my personal and professional life.
