We recently had the chance to connect with Kenisha Darden and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Kenisha, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
What makes me lose track of time—and find myself again—is prayer and meditation. When I focus on God and reflect on how far He has brought me, I often lose myself in the sweetness of His presence. I think back over my life, and it becomes so clear: God has always had me.
There’s a peace I can’t describe, a joy that makes me want to linger there forever. I start every morning this way—just me and God—and sometimes I don’t want to leave because it feels so good. It’s in that stillness that I’m reminded that no matter what the day may bring, God’s got me. If He did it before, He will do it again.
As Psalm 46:10 reminds us: “Be still, and know that I am God.” In that stillness, I find my strength, my peace, and my direction for the day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kenisha Darden, founder of Darden Quality Solutions, a business dedicated to providing detail-driven support for real estate professionals, entrepreneurs, and organizations. With over a decade of experience in operations, customer service, and creative solutions, I’ve built my brand on the belief that Rooted in Faith. Built on Process. Focused on Quality.
I offer every client a true white glove experience, no matter the size of the project. My goal is to focus on the small details that make the biggest difference, ensuring they receive the best possible service from start to finish. Whether I’m coordinating real estate transactions, creating custom marketing materials, or helping bring someone’s vision to life, I approach every project with the same commitment to excellence and personal touch.
My journey hasn’t been without challenges, but each chapter has shaped my resilience, creativity, and faith in God’s timing. Right now, I’m expanding my services to include creative deal coordination for real estate investors and custom design work for special events and businesses. In the future, I plan to add notary services as part of my continued growth. My ultimate goal is to be the person people trust when they need things done right the first time—with integrity, professionalism, and a little extra care.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Who saw me clearly before I could see myself? While my parents, of course, played a role, the person who truly opened my eyes was my Wessie. She was more than a grandmother—she was my best friend, my playmate, and my confidant. Wessie taught me that we are not defined by our mistakes, and she was the one who introduced me to the Lord.
She saw beauty in me that I couldn’t yet see in myself and made me believe I could accomplish anything I set my mind to. From her, I learned morals, values, and the joy of a good yard sale or flea market find. She shaped my character in ways I carry with me every day. I miss her dearly, but her love and lessons still guide me.
As Proverbs 22:6 reminds us: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Wessie did exactly that for me.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
In 2008, I faced one of the most defining wounds of my life—a life-threatening illness that kept me in the hospital for a month, including three weeks in the ICU. The doctors did all they could and then called my family in to tell them, “It’s now in God’s hands.”
By God’s grace, I recovered, but it was a long and challenging process. The illness left more than physical scars—it also damaged my bones, affecting my mobility at times. Yet through it all, I discovered a deeper strength within myself and an unshakable truth: God has the final say over my life.
Today, I stand as both a miracle and a medical mystery to doctors. Not only did I survive against all odds, but in 2010, I defied medical expectations once again by giving birth to my son—a blessing many thought would never be possible after my illness.
That experience taught me to appreciate every day, to be patient with my process, and to trust God even when the outcome looks uncertain. It reminded me that healing isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, spiritual, and mental. I came through it with a renewed faith, a greater sense of purpose, and a determination to live fully no matter the obstacles.
As Psalm 118:17 declares: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” My life is living proof of that promise.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely — what you see is what you get. At this stage in my life, I’m not auditioning for anyone’s approval. If you don’t like me, my prices, or my services, that’s okay — but you’ll never be able to say I didn’t give you my absolute best. Life’s too short to water yourself down.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
We’re all just out here trying to make it, and the truth is you never really know the battles someone is fighting behind the scenes. Life has taught me that even the smallest gestures—your kindness, your words, or something as simple as a genuine smile—can be the very thing that helps someone hold on a little longer, keeps them moving forward, or reminds them that they matter. That’s why I try to be intentional with how I show up in the world.
It’s not always about you—sometimes you have to step outside yourself, set aside your own perspective, and remember that there’s a bigger purpose and a deeper meaning at play. We’re all connected in ways we may never fully understand, and what you give out has a way of coming back. If I can be a light in someone’s day, even for a moment, then I know I’m living in that purpose.
