An Inspired Chat with Kyra Mitchell Lewis of South Fulton

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kyra Mitchell Lewis. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Kyra , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am being called to embrace visibility in a new way. For a long time, I felt safer pouring my energy into corporate leadership roles while keeping my creative dreams in the background. I was proud of Glow Up, Gyrl and Whimsy & Wonder Collective, but I didn’t always give myself permission to treat them as the powerful businesses they are.

Now, I’m stepping into the work of showing up fully, building communities through Glow Up, Gyrl, inviting people into joy and curiosity through Whimsy & Wonder, and helping entrepreneurs create sustainable systems through Studio Wonderwell. It’s both exciting and vulnerable to stand in the light and say, “This is my vision, this is my work, and it matters.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I like to think of myself as a builder of experiences. My journey started in corporate marketing, where I spent years leading big campaigns and teams, but I always felt pulled toward creating something more personal and purpose-driven. Today, that calling shows up through the three brands I’ve built. Glow Up, Gyrl is a space where women can connect through honest conversations and community. Whimsy & Wonder Collective is born from my love of books, puzzles, and miniatures; it’s an invitation for people to rediscover joy and curiosity in everyday life. And Studio Wonderwell allows me to help entrepreneurs create systems that give them back their time and energy. Together, these ventures reflect my belief that business should be both meaningful and life-giving.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I am learning to release the version of myself that relied on hustle as validation. In my corporate career, long hours and endless projects were badges of honor. When I started building Glow Up, Gyrl, Whimsy & Wonder Collective, and Studio Wonderwell, I carried that same mindset into entrepreneurship. But I realized that my businesses were never meant to be fueled by exhaustion. They were meant to reflect joy, curiosity, and alignment. Releasing that old need to prove myself through constant doing has been freeing. It allows me to build communities, create products, and design systems that actually reflect who I am and what I value.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I can remember seasons when I felt like giving up on Glow Up, Gyrl. Podcasting, producing content, and building community sometimes felt like too much on top of everything else. I wondered if it was worth the effort. But then I would receive a message from a listener who said an episode gave her hope, or that the Glow Circle helped her feel less alone. Those moments reminded me why I started. Glow Up, Gyrl was always meant to be a space where women could see their dreams reflected back at them, and knowing that it was serving even one person gave me the strength to keep going.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The value I protect above all is my relationship with God. It is my anchor and my compass. No matter how busy life gets, I carve out time to sit in prayer, read, and listen. Those moments remind me who I am and what I am called to do. Protecting that sacred space keeps me aligned and helps me move through life with purpose, grace, and peace.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
What I would regret most is not showing up for people in the way I feel called to. I never want to look back and feel that I stayed silent when I could have stood up for what was right, or that I missed the chance to care for someone who needed to be reminded that they mattered. My heart is especially for women who feel unseen or unsure if their dreams belong. Through my work and my life, I want them to know their voice matters, their dreams are valid, and there is a place for them in this world. That is what I hope never to leave undone.
