Bye CAMRN shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Bye CAMRN, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think a lot of people are secretly struggling with feeling like they’re living someone else’s version of life. We post wins online and tell ourselves we’re okay, but underneath there’s this question of “Is this really me, or just the role I’m playing?” That’s the kind of tension I write about—loyalty, identity, illusions—because I feel it too.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Bye CAMRN. The meaning comes from the idea of a kind of departure. A way of saying goodbye to one version of myself, while stepping into another. My music lives in that in-between space. The conversations we have before we let go.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who to be, I was just a kid making noise on every instrument I could touch. I think I’ve been chasing that same freedom ever since. Trying to get back to creating without the rules.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me presence. You can’t fake it or fast forward — you have to sit with it. Success feels good, but it fades fast. Pain lingers, and it makes you listen.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
That most of us already know the answers we’re searching for. We just avoid listening to ourselves. That’s why music works. Sometimes you hear it clearer in a song than in your own head.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
That’s how I already work. I make music in a room by myself long before anyone hears it, and giving my best in that space is what makes the rest possible.
