Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaliyah Simms.
Hi Aaliyah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey began as a curious kid with a passion for reading and a devotion to the depths of my imagination. The literature I consumed fueled the mass, boldness, and luminance of what my daily visualizations eventually evolved into. I would wander in the musings of my subconscious conscientiously until I arrived at a point of my life where I yearned to actualize my visions into the present. Once I identified this desire, I asked myself, “How?”. Consistently asking and reflecting on my how throughout the entirety of my life led me to where I am now—a creative artist, strategist, consultant, and entrepreneur—and perpetually towards what God has in store for me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Brand structure is the biggest challenge I am continuously making a home with. There are so many layers to the services I offer and the contributions I provide that defining and aligning each sector can be quite tedious and overwhelming. When I feel pressure swooping in, I remind myself that this is what it means to be a co-curator of God’s given visions; to make the imaginable an unbelievable reality. Every second is precious, and I am leaning further into enjoying the process of creation.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a multihyphenated creative servicing and contributing to the industries of art, health, wellness, academia, technology, and environmental sectors. Most of my services and contributions are housed by my business, EccenSou Studios, a transnational, creative strategy and production company established on April 19th, 2023. I manage my own music artistry brand known as Infinit3.Lee, and I am a co-founder of an initiative titled HBCUx, a digital incubator desiring to rewrite the story of arts graduates from HBCUs.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe the industry of art and entertainment will be held at a super high and prestigious regard across cultures in the next 5-10 years. I believe my industry has and will continue healing and setting the minds, hearts, souls, and energies of the world free. Art and entertainment gives us the power to shift culture and co-design our collective reality. It is all about how we decide to participate, and I’ve experienced a multitude of us wielding our creativity for an incredible future ahead.
