Today we’d like to introduce you to Darius Williams.

Hi Darius, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My LoveCost story started in 2021, when I first began making clothes from home with nothing more than a Circuit machine and a dream. I was passionate about creating, and what started as a small idea slowly became something I truly believed could become a business.

Unfortunately, my house burned down, and I lost almost everything I had built, including the things I had for LoveCost. At that point, I lost hope and faith in my business and didn’t know if I would ever start again.

After finishing my first year of college in 2025, I decided to give LoveCost another chance. During that time, my relationship with Christ had grown tremendously, and I realized that the talent and creativity God gave me were gifts that I was meant to use. I knew I couldn’t just let fear or what I had lost stop me from walking in my purpose.

So, I decided to rebuild LoveCost, but this time with God at the center of the business. LoveCost is more than just a clothing brand to me—it represents restoration, faith, perseverance, and trusting God through every season.

I’m still growing and building the brand today, but I’m grateful for the journey because everything I’ve experienced has shaped the person and entrepreneur I am becoming.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I faced was my house burning down and losing so much of what I had. Beyond losing physical things, it affected me mentally because I felt like everything I had started building with LoveCost was taken away from me. For a while, I lost the motivation and confidence to continue.

Another challenge has been support. When you’re building something from the ground up, you quickly realize that not everyone is going to believe in your vision the same way you do. Learning not to depend on validation or support from others has been difficult, but it has also taught me to believe in myself, stay consistent, and trust what God has placed on my heart.

Financially, building LoveCost while being a college student has also been challenging. Running a clothing brand requires investing in inventory, designs, production, marketing, and many other expenses, while still having my own responsibilities as a student. There have been times when I’ve had ideas that I wanted to bring to life but simply didn’t have the resources to execute them the way I wanted.

Through all of those struggles, though, my faith has continued to keep me grounded. I’ve learned that building something meaningful takes patience. Every setback has pushed me to become more disciplined, creative, and intentional. I know LoveCost is still growing, and I believe every challenge I’ve faced is preparing me for where God is taking the brand next.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a young entrepreneur, creative, college student, and the founder of LoveCost. My work is centered around bringing my ideas to life through fashion while also using my creativity to represent my faith and the things I’ve experienced throughout my journey. I specialize in designing and developing streetwear, but I also take pride in the business side of what I do, from building the brand and marketing to connecting with people and creating a community around my vision.

I would say I’m known for my creativity, leadership, faith, and determination. When I believe in something, I put everything I have into making it happen. What I’m most proud of is my ability to keep going despite the obstacles I’ve faced. Losing my home and stepping away from my business could have been the end of my journey, but I came back with a stronger mindset and a stronger relationship with God.

What sets me apart is my story, my faith, and my willingness to keep going even when things don’t go according to plan. I’m not afraid to start over, learn from my mistakes, and continue improving. I want everything I build, especially LoveCost, to be a reflection of who I am, what I’ve overcome, and where God is leading me.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Yes, I definitely consider myself a risk-taker. I believe that sometimes you have to take a chance on yourself before anyone else will. One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was putting the last amount of money I had into ordering my first bulk order for LoveCost. At the time, there was no guarantee that the clothes would sell or that I would make that money back, but I believed in my vision enough to take that chance.

It was definitely scary because, as a college student, every dollar matters. But I knew that if I wanted LoveCost to grow, I couldn’t always wait until everything was perfect or until I felt completely comfortable. I had to step out on faith and trust God with the outcome.

That experience shaped the way I look at risk today. I don’t believe in taking risks without thinking things through, but I do believe that growth requires you to become uncomfortable sometimes. For me, risk-taking is about having faith, believing in yourself, and being willing to sacrifice something now for the possibility of building something greater later.
