Check Out Doniece Moore’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Doniece Moore.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Moore Events started out as a hobby, as my close friends and family would always ask me to help plan events. With, planning it was little as picking out decor, a venue or even an Airbnb (for those traveling), but overall assisting with logistics. One day I decided to make it a brand as I would help with one of my friends who does social events by doing most of her coordinating, to simply take some of the weight off as we all know planning can be a lot and tedious. Over the last 2 years of coordinating and managing events, I took on a new career path as a bartender. Becoming a bartender was just a playful thing as I always was the person to make drinks for functions or for guest when they would come over. This started out for me as a Starbucks employee for a couple of years and never let go of the love for making drinks. January 2026, I officially became a licensed bartender/professional mixologist. With that, the next best thing to do was combine both event coordination and bartending which now allows me to serve as a mobile bartender. As of March 2026, “Moore Events” has been created as not just an event coordinating business but a business to serve as other by creating an experience with onsite services as the bartender for private events with cocktails and/or mocktails provided, personal drinks made for private events, but also classes for occasions for those who would love to learn the basics of mixology.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In the hospitality industry it will always be some bumps in the road, it’s never always smooth. Sometimes simply telling someone “No”, was the biggest struggle I had to learn because you always want to serve the people without lowering your value or worth. Learning that, created much growth within my brand as it allowed my confidence to grow more once fully understanding your face is always behind your name and it’s okay to navigate in ways you may not like in order remember how the works speaks for itself. Overall, those obstacles made the journey be great allowing me to learn more about myself in a great way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The work I do, creates the “fun” while being at an event. Drinks are to feel personal, because it allows people to have fun, open up and enjoy their time during the function. Due to this, it also let me connect with others on something they like especially if there are drinks are made for a special occasion with a theme. Serving as a mobile bartender, I specialize in cocktails and mocktails that is created for personal orders for private events and also selling drinks under “Niecey’s Twist”. When prepping for events the feeling of putting together a menu bring the joy inside. Serving is the fun part but prepping and seeing everything all come together reassures you from the time and labor being poured into leading up to the day of. Knowing the drinks served will be a customer favorite I tend to hear “this is good” as feedback as it then puts a smile on my face. Being a bartender is not always the easiest as everyone has different taste buds, but I am overly proud in myself knowing how fast I can build something up while still learning and growing in the entrepreneurial world. The feeling alone lets me see the areas of growth but know I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me to build a team.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I always think you connect with the right person/people at the right time. I started this out as a simple gut feeling to put myself out there with little confidence and not knowing how things would turn out. Now, because of one opportunity I have walked into rooms I never would’ve thought of. You will be surprised when walking into those rooms how a simple polite conversation can always lead to the next potential opportunity. Building off your clients, create a network that one day you may need to use for yourself from their services as well. One conversation can allow you to grow and learn off the next person without even knowing but also create a lifelong client. For myself it built the trust that people know they can rely on within my business to show up and serve their drinks up according to their expectations.
