Check Out February Nichole’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to February Nichole.

Hi February, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a gospel recording artist, speaker, and ordained pastor whose journey in music began at the age of three. From the very beginning, God placed people in my life who recognized my gift and helped cultivate it. My mother and grandmother made sure I was surrounded by opportunities to grow, keeping me active in both school chorus and church choir. I joined my school chorus in the second grade and continued through high school, and I joined my church choir in the seventh grade, where I also remained through graduation.

One of the most meaningful parts of my early musical journey was being a member of an a cappella group called Unspeakable Joy, which my best friend and I formed in the seventh grade. Although the members changed throughout the years, the two of us remained consistent until we graduated in 1997. Looking back, those experiences were more than opportunities to sing—they were part of the foundation God was building in me.

Over the years, I did some recording, primarily singing background vocals for other independent artists. In 2015, I began working with Jehovah Jamz Records, and that relationship became an important part of my development as an artist. Under their leadership, we released the first Revelation, Rhythm, and Rhyme compilation album in 2017. My journey with Jehovah Jamz has helped me grow not only as a recording artist, but also in my understanding of what it means to use my gift while remaining completely dependent on God.

My first solo album, A New Creation, was released in April 2022, followed by Revelation, Rhythm, and Rhyme, Volume 2 in February 2025. I am currently working on my next EP, which I plan to release no later than spring 2027.

But my journey has expanded beyond music.

In the summer of 2025, I was presented with an unexpected opportunity to work with Monique Hyman to create my first signature fragrance, PROVEN. What began as a product became another expression of my testimony. Inspired by Romans 5:3–4, PROVEN represents what happens when we endure the pressure, allow God to develop our character, and come through the process with hope.

PROVEN was released in April 2026 and has been received with great success. For me, it is more than a fragrance—it is a reminder that what we go through does not have to destroy us. In God’s hands, the process can develop us, strengthen us, and reveal who He has called us to be.

Today, I continue to grow as an artist, speaker, pastor, entrepreneur, and woman of faith. Whether I am singing, speaking, creating, or sharing my story, my desire remains the same: to use what God has placed in me to encourage others, point people back to Him, and remind them that there is purpose in the process.

I am still becoming. I am still being developed. And I am still trusting God with the gift He gave me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I definitely do not want to present myself as someone who has arrived. I’m still becoming. There have been emotionally difficult seasons, periods of self-doubt, feeling overwhelmed, wrestling with my identity.

My journey has not been without moments of uncertainty, disappointment, pressure, and having to confront parts of myself that I would have rather avoided. There were times when I questioned the timing, questioned myself, and wondered whether I was truly walking in the purpose God had placed inside of me….whether I was worthy. But those seasons taught me something important: I cannot become who God called me to be by relying on my own strength.

I have had to learn how to trust God while I was still healing, growing, changing, and figuring things out. And perhaps that is one of the greatest lessons of my journey—being PROVEN doesn’t mean you never struggle. It means you allow God to work through the struggle without allowing the struggle to have the final word.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in gospel music that is rooted in the Word of God and shaped by real-life experiences. My sound blends gospel and R&B, allowing me to share biblical truth in a way that is relatable, honest, and personal. I sing about faith, life, perseverance, struggle, hope, and the faithfulness of God—not simply from what I have read, but from what I have lived.

I am known for my distinctive sound, my love for harmonies, and my ability to connect my personal experiences with the Word of God. I am also known for being genuine. I don’t try to present a perfect version of myself or pretend that faith means life is always easy.

I am most proud of the growth that has taken place in me—not just as an artist, but as a woman of God. I am proud that I have learned to trust God with the gift He gave me and that I cannot do what I do in my own strength.

What sets me apart is that I am not simply interested in making music that sounds good. I want what I create to mean something. I want it to meet people where they are and point them toward God. I also believe that my femininity, transparency, personality, and life experiences bring something different to gospel music. I can be warm and personable, but I also have a straightforward, no-nonsense side.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
My favorite book, aside from the book of Genesis in the Bible, is “What Did You Expect” by Paul Tripp. It is my opinion that this book should be on the reading list in high school. We are taught math, science, English, social studies, etc., but we are not taught to be in relationship. Although the book is geared towards married couples, I think it is foundational for strong successful relationships period.

I listen to several podcast and You Tube channels. Some of my favorite pastors to listen to on You Tube are Andy Stanley and R. C. Blakes. I also listen to the podcast Snap Judgement. I love hearing other people’s stories of what they have gone through and how they have over come. Snap Judgement is not a Christian show, but it is very diverse in backgrounds, culture, social class, and more.
