Check Out Jennifer Zarzuela’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Zarzuela.

Hi jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started creating my own path in film while attending Brooklyn College, making short films and assisting in any way I could on as many projects as possible. I wanted to be around the process—to learn, to observe, and to understand every part of what it took to bring an idea to life.

My love for the arts, however, began with my love for the stage. I started out acting, and I remember watching my acting coach work and thinking to myself, “I can’t believe this is considered a job.” There was something so magical about being surrounded by creativity and getting to call it work. That feeling stayed with me and eventually led me to discover that my place in the arts could extend far beyond performing. I wanted to understand the world behind the camera just as deeply as I understood the world in front of it

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a bumpy, but beautiful road. A road paved with lessons, sacrifice, and a lot of learning.
Coming from an immigrant family from the Dominican Republic, I learned early how to survive and how to keep dreaming big. That mentality followed me into film. I worked multiple jobs outside of film to support myself while assisting for free on sets. Every connection, every shoot, every person I met became another cord connecting me to where I was meant to be. To this day, those connections remind me of the power of manifestation and of what can happen when you surround yourself with people who are also in pursuit of happiness, purpose, and a dream.
Through it all, I’ve learned to keep dreaming bigger than what seems realistic, to trust the vision, and maybe most importantly, to stay a little delusional.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work as an Executive Producer has taken me through projects with Tom Ford, Madonna’s Celebration Tour visuals, and Romeo Santos, while most recently stepping behind the camera to direct a music video for Coi Leray.

I specialize in producing and directing, but I’ve never felt the need to define myself by a title. I bring my creative vision, extensive filmmaking knowledge, soul, and intuition into everything I do.

What the world has yet to see is my creative writing. The stories and worlds I’ve been quietly creating along the way. In many ways, my favorite creative work is the work I have yet to release: my narrative work.

I’m still becoming, and my best is yet to come.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If you’re just starting out, I want you to believe in that voice inside of you that tells you that you belong—even when it feels so far away.

As you get deeper into the industry and learn more, remember not to become jaded or fall into comparison. Everyone’s path is different, and there’s a reason yours is yours.

No matter how long it takes, celebrate the wins, check your ego at the door, remain a student, and keep showing up. Work hard—harder than anyone else around you.

The work will find you. Keep going.
