Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Badson.
Hi Tamara, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We started our first event company in New York called NEM Events, and after the tough decisions involved in transplanting, we sold our company and moved to the Peach State, Atlanta. Moving from the concrete jungle of New York to the sweet southern charm of Atlanta was like trading in our winter coats for sweet tea glasses. A few months later, COVID arrived and turned all of our plans upside down. We reassessed everything and just like that, we pivoted back to the event business and started our baby, Evolution Photo Booths. Nothing beats capturing genuine smiles and spontaneous dance moves in our booths!My family is my rock and my faith is what drives me every day. I firmly believe that it may be Friday or Saturday on my calendar, but this moment could be the most important day of someone’s life. I love what I do. Come create memories with us that will last longer than your wedding cake in the freezer!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but my family has kept me grounded and been my rock. From helping with marketing, loading vans, and just holding me down has meant everything.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My journey began in retail management, where I learned the fundamentals of customer service and business operations. But something was missing – the freedom to create something truly mine. NEM gave me my first taste of entrepreneurship. The transition from employee to woman business owner completely transformed my drive. Every early morning and late night had new meaning because I was building something that belonged to me. The challenges taught me skills I never knew I needed – negotiation, marketing, financial planning, and the art of persistence. Things I simply didn’t do in my retail management days became my daily routine.
Evolution Photo Booths created an environment of confidence for me. Each successful event, each glowing client review, reinforced that I was on the right path. Unlike my previous career, I now know that the harder I push, all the effort is for me and my family. My family remains my rock and my faith drives me every day.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love being present exactly where I stand. I am very humble and will just about give anyone the shirt off my back. I love being a Mom, and Grand Mom, and my husband. I love him to death. The part most may not know is I want to beat him with a pillow every other day, in the most romantic way of course “wink wink”, lol
