Beauty has been my passion since I was a little girl. I was styling hair for family and friends long before I became a licensed Master Cosmetologist. Throughout my career, from working behind the chair to managing luxury beauty brands and receiving advanced esthetics training, I realized my purpose was much bigger than providing beauty services.
I founded Pamper Me Total Beauty Spa to create a place where people could experience complete self-care under one roof. Too often, people neglect themselves while caring for everyone else. I wanted to solve that by creating an environment where clients could relax, restore, and receive personalized treatments for their hair, skin, body, and overall wellness. My goal has always been to remind people that self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. Every service we provide is designed to help our clients look their best, feel confident, and leave refreshed from the inside out.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to grow while navigating constant change. Building a business requires wearing many hats service provider, leader, marketer, trainer, and visionary all while maintaining excellence for every client.
I’ve also learned that growth isn’t just about adding services; it’s about building the right team and creating systems that allow the business to thrive beyond me. Through prayer, perseverance, continued education, mentorship, and surrounding myself with people who believe in the vision, I’ve learned that every obstacle is an opportunity to become a stronger leader. Challenges haven’t stopped me, they’ve refined me.

I believe that growth is a lifelong journey, so I’m always learning. One of the greatest resources in my life is my faith. Spending time in prayer and reading the Bible gives me wisdom, direction, and the strength to lead with integrity and purpose.

Professionally, I enjoy reading books on leadership, business development, customer experience, and personal growth. The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber has been especially impactful because it taught me the importance of building systems and creating a business that can thrive beyond its owner. I also appreciate Atomic Habits by James Clear for its practical insights on creating consistent habits that lead to long-term success.

I regularly use technology to help me stay organized, communicate with clients, and market my business. ChatGPT has become a valuable brainstorming partner for developing marketing campaigns, training materials, lesson plans, and business strategies. Canva helps me create professional branding and social media content, while Square and my online booking platform help me streamline operations and enhance the client experience.

One resource that’s especially meaningful to me is my own book, I Thought You Should Know, which I co-authored with Sharon Whitlow, Keneatha Mason, and Princess McCarthy. The stories and life lessons shared in that book remind me why I do what I do to encourage others, build meaningful relationships, and leave a lasting impact.

Above all, I believe the best resource is remaining teachable. Whether I’m attending advanced beauty education, learning from mentors, listening to other entrepreneurs, or simply listening to my clients, every experience is an opportunity to grow. That mindset has helped me continue evolving both personally and professionally throughout my career.
