Hi Russ / Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We met almost three years ago. At the time, I was running a restaurant while Jordan was doing freelance design, working for her self. About a year and a half ago, I stepped away from the culinary world and we launched Foundry 237 together.

The early months were challenging, we were figuring out who did what, reworking responsibilities, and finding our rhythm. But after a lot of trial and error, we landed on roles that play to each of our strengths with minimal overlap. Now we both operate distinct parts of the business that we genuinely enjoy.

Working alongside your best friend has been a gift. It creates a tighter circle of accountability – when you slip up, you’re not just letting yourself down, you’re letting down the person you care about most.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been smooth, but the friction shaped us. The hardest part early on was financial, we took two incomes and compressed them into one while we built momentum.

Scaling to a point where both of us were drawing salaries that matched our skill sets took time and pressure. That squeeze forced us to get efficient fast. We’re much more adept now, but the learning hasn’t stopped. We’re always refining our standard operating procedures, always optimizing for efficiency.

That independence forced us to become sharp. We’ve learned through execution, not theory. Every framework we use, every proposal structure, every SEO system – it was built through actual client work and real results. We’ve had to hold ourselves accountable, raise our own standards, and keep improving week after week.

If anyone deserves credit beyond us, it’s our clients. The businesses that trusted us early on gave us the opportunity to prove ourselves and grow alongside them. That trust means everything.
