Community Highlights: Meet Shallise Johnson of RejuvCo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shallise Johnson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into financial services began after I was laid off from my corporate job June 2025. Prior to that, I spent five years working as a data analyst for several companies, where I experienced firsthand how unpredictable corporate employment can be. That experience motivated me to pursue a career where I could take control of my own future while helping others do the same.

Through financial services, I gained a deeper understanding of budgeting, wealth building, investment diversification, and retirement planning. More importantly, I found a profession that allows me to educate families, create lasting relationships, and make a positive impact every day.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Unfortunately, I would have to use these skills when my spouse passed in August, only a month of me being in business. I found myself in a pit of grief, trying to climb out of major debt, the loss of the breadwinner in my household, and becoming a new single mother. This industry honestly, shaped me into the woman who I am today.

Through my brokenness, I got closer to God, I gained community, and an even a greater purpose for life. Through my experience, I have seen firsthand of how easy it is to lose everything. My financial security, sanity, and self-worth all plummeted during this time. But I also learned how strong I am. That the knowledge I gained could save many others, and prevent them from ever experiencing what I went through.

Honestly, there were things I didn’t even know about, like my spouse’s finances, things I had overlooked, and even ignored. But I was faced with these things head on when he passed. As a result of me just getting licensed and only being in business a month, I decided to return to gig work. But I found myself, just down to the lint in my pockets. Nothing to show, but always behind and owing someone.

That’s when I decided to step out of my pit of grief and do something to change the trajectory of my livelihood. That was only the beginning of the fight I would have to face. I’ve had struggles with the legal side of his case, attaining his benefits, like Social Security and life insurance, and even, cleaning up my own credit and debt. But miraculously, life insurance was the answer to all of my problems.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a life insurance agent. With the company I am partnered with, I am able to offer an array of products such as, life & health insurance, debt solutions, retirement planning, risk management, and wealth strategies to my clients. Providing a full scope of their financial health, and give them advice on how to allocate, move, or avoid taxes.

What I am most proud of, is the level of understanding I have gained in just a year. The lives I have impacted thus far. Plus, the legacy I am leaving and building for my daughter. I often take her with me to the office, allowing her to be around the environment. She gets to see her mom in action with a mission and a purpose to back it up. What resilience and perseverance produces. And greater so, she gets to witness her legacy being built before her eyes.

What matters most, is that I leave an impact on every individual that I meet. I love what I do because I’m able to be a difference and create lifelong relationships with anyone I serve. Overall, I want to always exemplify a trustworthy and credible business.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Throughout this experience, I have gained a community of supporters, from family, friends, and even my business partners. My family and friends have really taking the rain on helping me navigate motherhood on my own. And always willing to help and intercede on my behalf for my daughter. I am so thankful to them.

My business partners, though, have encouraged me to strengthen my faith, be active in the community, and witness resilience. They all have made me mentally and physically stronger so that I can continue to strive from my goals.
