Community Highlights: Meet Vanessa Vivas Lovera of SISU Beauty Clinic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Vivas Lovera.

Vanessa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Venezuela, and my career path has definitely not been a straight line. I actually started by studying Journalism. After that, I realized my passion was in healthcare, so I went on to study Dentistry. Those experiences gave me a unique combination of communication skills, attention to detail, and an appreciation for both science and artistry.

A few years later, I moved to the United States to start over. Like many immigrants, I had to rebuild my career from scratch, which wasn’t easy, but it pushed me to grow in ways I never expected. I decided to pursue nursing, became a registered nurse, and eventually discovered my passion for medical aesthetics. What started as a genuine interest quickly became something much bigger.

Today, I’m the founder of Sisu Medical Aesthetics, where I have the privilege of helping patients feel more confident while always prioritizing natural-looking results, safety, and education. At the same time, I’m continuing my education as a Family Nurse Practitioner because I believe there’s always more to learn. Looking back, every chapter of my journey, from Venezuela to where I am today, has shaped the way I care for my patients and the way I run my practice. I truly believe that every challenge along the way has helped me become the provider I am today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not. Looking back, I think every stage of my journey came with its own challenges. I moved to the United States from Venezuela in 2018 by myself, leaving behind my family, my career, and everything that felt familiar. I had to start over in a new country, learn English, adapt to a completely different culture, and work different jobs while figuring out how to rebuild my future.

One of the biggest challenges was simply starting over professionally. I knew I wanted a career where I could combine healthcare, science, and artistry, so I committed to going back to school and creating new opportunities for myself. That journey eventually led me to become a registered nurse and discover my passion for medical aesthetics. Breaking into the aesthetics industry, however, wasn’t easy. As a newcomer opening a practice in a small community, I didn’t always feel welcomed by everyone in the industry. Building credibility and earning patients’ trust took time, consistency, and a lot of perseverance. Looking back, that experience taught me to focus less on outside opinions and more on providing the best care possible to every patient who walked through my doors.

Building my own practice brought another set of challenges. Running a business meant wearing many hats, learning entrepreneurship, navigating healthcare regulations, and making difficult decisions along the way. There were moments when it felt overwhelming, but every obstacle helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Looking back, I wouldn’t change any of it. Every challenge made me more resilient and reminded me why I started in the first place. Today, those experiences shape the way I care for my patients, lead my team, and run my practice. They taught me that success isn’t about having a perfect path, it’s about continuing to move forward, even when the road isn’t easy.

We’ve been impressed with SISU Beauty Clinic, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
SISU Beauty Clinic is a boutique medical aesthetics practice in Hinesville, Georgia, built around the idea that aesthetic medicine should enhance, not change, who you are. From the very beginning, my goal has been to create a place where patients feel heard, educated, and genuinely cared for. Every treatment plan is personalized because I don’t believe beauty is one-size-fits-all.

We specialize in natural-looking injectables, facial balancing, advanced skin rejuvenation, laser treatments, and regenerative aesthetics. I’m passionate about combining evidence-based medicine with artistry to create results that are beautiful but never overdone. Patient education is also a huge part of what we do because I want every person who walks through our doors to understand their options and feel confident in their decisions.

I think what truly sets us apart is the experience. We take the time to build relationships with our patients instead of treating them like appointments on a schedule. I’m incredibly proud that our growth has come almost entirely through word of mouth and patient trust.

Along the way, our commitment to exceptional patient care has been recognized with Best of Georgia awards in 2024 and 2025, as well as Best of Liberty awards in 2024 and 2025. Those recognitions are especially meaningful because they reflect the trust and support of the community we serve.

More than anything, I want people to know that when they choose SISU, they’re choosing a practice that values honesty, safety, personalized care, and natural results above everything else. Every treatment we offer is designed to enhance our patients’ natural beauty while helping them feel confident in their own skin.

What were you like growing up?
I was a pretty curious kid. I always loved learning and trying new things, but I definitely had two very different sides to me. On one hand, I was always dressing up as a doctor and telling everyone I was going to be a pediatrician when I grew up. On the other hand, I loved anything creative. I could spend hours doing my dolls’ hair and makeup, drawing, painting, or making crafts.

Looking back now, it’s funny because I think those two interests eventually came together. My work today lets me combine medicine with creativity every day, and I honestly think that’s something I’ve loved since I was little.
