Conversations with Jay Amor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Amor.

Hi Jay , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Welcome to Amor Armada, founded by Jay Amor—an artist, producer, engineer, songwriter, model, and entrepreneur. A rockstar who’s still rising and evolving, Jay Amor hails from El Paso, Texas, and spent much of his life in the southern United States. After living overseas for four years, he was deeply influenced by pop culture, R&B, and EDM. At the age of eight, his mother enrolled him in piano lessons, sparking his love for music. Throughout middle school and high school, Jay was also a part of the drumline, further honing his musical talents. Upon returning to the States and relocating to Georgia, he was introduced to hip hop, trap, and rage music. His vision has always been to become a multi-genre rockstar.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve faced financial hardships that made it difficult to invest in myself and my goals, and I’ve experienced the pain of losing relationships with both friends and people I loved. Those experiences, along with periods of struggling with my mental health, tested my resilience and made me question whether I could keep moving forward.

There were times when it felt like everything was working against me, but I refused to let those challenges define me. Instead, I used them as motivation to grow, learn, and become stronger. Every setback taught me something about perseverance, self-awareness, and determination. Those experiences have shaped who I am today and have given me a deeper appreciation for every opportunity. They continue to fuel my passion and remind me why I work so hard to pursue my dreams.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a recording artist and songwriter who creates music rooted in real-life experiences and genuine emotion. My music blends honest storytelling with melodies that connect with people who have faced struggle, heartbreak, growth, and perseverance. I specialize in writing songs that are authentic and relatable because every lyric comes from a place I’ve truly lived through.

What I’m most proud of is my ability to keep creating despite the obstacles I’ve faced. I’ve continued to pursue my passion through financial hardship, personal loss, broken relationships, and mental health challenges. Instead of allowing those experiences to stop me, I’ve turned them into music that I hope inspires and helps others feel understood.

What sets me apart is my authenticity. I don’t create music based on trends or what’s popular—I create from lived experience. Every song reflects a chapter of my life, and my goal is to build a genuine connection with listeners by being honest and vulnerable. I believe people can tell the difference between music that’s manufactured and music that’s real, and I want my work to leave a lasting impact because of that honesty.
