Conversations with Marissa Miller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marissa Miller.

Hi Marissa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started dance classes at the age of 3. I quit dance at 7 and came back to it around 13. I joined a competition team and two pre-professional programs in ballet and modern. I went onto studying at a vocational high school for performing arts and then onto Boston Conservatory at Berklee. I moved out to Las Vegas in 2023 after graduating and built a new exciting life for myself in the dance, content, and photography industries.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road. I moved across the country alone going to a new city alone. I had to be smart financially and set myself up for success. Getting rejected a ton and learning how to be far from family.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a professional dancer and photographer. I’ve worked in many shows on the Las Vegas strip. From a Michael Jackson tribute concert, to dinner shows, to Magic Mike Live. I grew up doing primarily ballet. I am definitely known more for that and my technical side to my dancing. I love to teach as well.

I’m incredibly proud of the jobs I’ve booked and my resilience in this career path. I’m so proud of myself for teaching dance as well, as it’s out of my comfort zone. I think what sets me apart from others is my willingness to fail. I love trying new things and growing.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is how I’m feeling in the current moment. Not chasing an idea, but something that truly resonates with me. My idea of success is ever changing and I love that. I always want to be doing jobs I love.
