Conversations with Spencer Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Spencer Davis.

Hi Spencer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Left Hand Hotdog started in the winter of 2022. We released our first album, Left Hand Hotdog Radio, in the fall of 2024. Since then we have released an e.p. and several singles. We have toured the northeast and are planning a two week run to California this year, along with more music to be released.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being in band is a challenge. Being in a band with 7 people is an extra challenge. We are very DIY so nothing comes easy whether that be setting up shows, printing shirts, or recording music. It takes a lot of time and effort but is extremely rewarding.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Are you asking about our day jobs? A couple of us teach and perform music. Doordasher, real estate agent, metal worker, corporate stuff.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Is luck real? You gotta go out there and make your luck. Send emails, go to a show and make a friend. Hype up bands that you like. This kind of work ends up coming back to help you, and if you do it right its just fun making and hanging with your friends.
