Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexia Lucas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexia Lucas.

Alexia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started with my love for fashion. Ever since I was little, I’ve known that I wanted to do something within the fashion industry, which eventually led me to pursue a degree in Fashion Merchandising at Georgia Southern University.

During my junior year of college, I was introduced to content creation, college ambassador programs, and creator communities. I had always loved watching other people create fashion and lifestyle content, and one day I thought to myself, “Why can’t I do that too?” Growing up, I was always very shy and never liked being in the spotlight, so the idea of becoming a content creator honestly felt a little crazy at first. Looking back, though, it has truly been a blessing in disguise.

Content creation has helped me build so much confidence and has given me a space to share the things I genuinely love, from fashion and beauty to lifestyle. It has also opened doors for me to work with amazing brands such as BEARPAW, PrettyLittleThing, Five Below, and many more. Beyond the brand opportunities, one of my favorite parts of this journey has been meeting so many incredible people and becoming a part of such a supportive and creative community.

After graduating, I knew I wanted to continue building a career where I could combine my love for fashion, creativity, connecting with people, and creating memorable experiences. Today, I’m an Events Manager for Kendra Scott, and I love that my role allows me to blend so many different parts of who I am. I get to be creative, build relationships, connect with local businesses and organizations, plan events and partnerships, and create experiences that bring people together.

What I love most about my journey is seeing how everything has connected. The shy girl who never wanted to be in the spotlight became a content creator, learned how to put herself out there, and now gets to use that confidence every day to network, build partnerships, and create opportunities. I’m still growing and learning, but I’m excited to continue building a career that allows me to combine fashion, creativity, community, and connection while hopefully inspiring other people to step outside of their comfort zones too.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles has honestly been getting out of my own way and building confidence in myself. Growing up, I was extremely shy and never really liked being the center of attention, so stepping into content creation, networking, and eventually a career where I’m constantly meeting new people and putting myself out there was completely outside of my comfort zone.

Content creation has also taught me a lot about consistency and comparison. Staying consistent can be difficult, especially while balancing work, everyday life, and trying to remain creative. There have definitely been times when I’ve felt uninspired or discouraged because I wasn’t posting as much as I wanted to. It can also be easy to look at what everyone else is doing, compare your numbers, opportunities, or growth, and feel like you aren’t doing enough. I’ve had to learn that everyone’s journey looks different and that being consistent doesn’t always mean being perfect. Sometimes it simply means continuing to show up, create, and stay true to what I genuinely enjoy sharing.

Another challenge has been figuring out exactly where I fit within the fashion industry. When I graduated, I knew I loved fashion, creativity, and working with people, but I didn’t necessarily have one specific job title in mind that brought all of those things together. It took trying different roles and being open to new opportunities for me to realize how much I enjoy events, partnerships, community engagement, and creating experiences for others.

I’ve also had to become comfortable with hearing “no” or sometimes not getting a response at all. Whether it’s reaching out to a brand, pitching a partnership, or introducing myself to someone new, not every opportunity works out. I’ve learned not to take that personally. Sometimes one “no” leads you closer to the opportunity that is actually meant for you.

Overall, the challenges I’ve experienced have helped me become more confident, resilient, disciplined, and willing to take chances on myself. I’m still learning every day, but I’ve realized that so much growth happens when you’re willing to keep showing up, even when things don’t happen as quickly or as perfectly as you imagined.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I’ve been fortunate to build a career that allows me to bring together my love for fashion, creativity, and connecting with people. Professionally, I currently work as an Events Manager for Kendra Scott, where I focus on creating meaningful experiences and building relationships within the local community. A large part of my role involves planning in-store events and pop-ups, connecting with local businesses, schools, nonprofits, social groups, and other organizations, and finding ways to create partnerships that are beneficial and memorable for everyone involved.

A lot of what I do starts with relationship building. I’m constantly meeting new people, reaching out to businesses and organizations, coming up with collaboration ideas, and finding ways to turn those ideas into something special. One of my favorite parts of my job is seeing something go from a simple conversation or email to a full event where people are making memories, connecting with each other, and having an experience they’ll remember.

I would say I specialize in relationship building and creating experiences that feel personal. I genuinely enjoy meeting new people, learning about their organizations or communities, and figuring out how we can create something together. Whether it’s a shopping event, a giveback event, a pop-up, or another type of collaboration, I love being able to take an idea and turn it into an experience that brings people together.

Outside of my professional role, I’m also a fashion and lifestyle content creator. Content creation gives me another outlet to express my creativity, share my personal style, connect with my audience, and work with brands that I genuinely enjoy. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with amazing brands, and every opportunity has helped me continue learning more about branding, storytelling, and creating content that feels authentic to me.

What I’m most proud of is the confidence and growth I’ve developed along the way. If you told the younger, extremely shy version of me that I would one day be creating content, reaching out to brands, networking with businesses, pitching partnerships, leading events, and constantly introducing myself to new people, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Seeing myself grow into someone who is willing to put herself out there and create her own opportunities is something I’m extremely proud of.

I think what sets me apart is that I genuinely care about the connection behind what I’m doing. Whether I’m creating content or planning an event, I don’t want it to feel like just another post, sale, or partnership. I want people to feel seen, welcomed, and excited about the experience. I’m very relationship-driven, and I think my ability to combine creativity with that genuine love for connecting with people is one of my biggest strengths.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories has to be in second grade when my school put on a fairy tale ball. We got to dress up as our favorite fairy tale characters, and I remember being so excited about it. I’ve always loved getting dressed up , so something like that was right up my alley. It was such a fun day, and even now, it’s one of those little memories that still makes me smile when I think about it!
