Hi Kayla, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Kayla Jones, the owner of Washington Elite Tax Professionals in Atlanta. Over the last 17 years, I’ve grown my business around helping individuals and small business owners feel more confident about their finances. What began with tax preparation has expanded to include tax planning, bookkeeping, payroll support, and business consulting.

I especially enjoy working with entrepreneurs, real estate professionals, and people in the trucking industry because I understand how much they have to manage while building a business. Today, my focus is on giving clients personal guidance throughout the year, not just when it’s time to file a return. I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built and the opportunity to help people make informed decisions about their future.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. Building a tax practice has meant learning how to serve clients well while managing the demands of running a business. Tax rules change, deadlines come quickly, and sometimes the information needed to help a client arrives at the last minute. I care about getting the work right, so those moments can be challenging.

Over time, I’ve learned to set clearer expectations, keep improving my processes, and ask for what I need early. The challenges have made me more patient and more confident in the kind of business I’ve built. I’m grateful for the clients who trust me, and I’m still growing alongside them.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Washington Elite Tax Professionals LLC is an Atlanta-based tax and financial services firm serving individuals and business owners. We provide tax preparation and planning, bookkeeping, payroll support, and business consulting. We work with clients across a range of industries, with particular experience supporting real estate professionals and trucking businesses.

What I want people to know is that our work goes beyond preparing a return. I take time to understand each client’s situation, explain their options clearly, and help them make informed financial decisions throughout the year. I’m most proud of the trust our clients place in us and the relationships we’ve built by being there when they need guidance.

What makes you happy?
My family, my faith, and being able to make a difference in someone’s life make me happy. I love seeing our children grow, spending time with my husband, and taking a moment to appreciate what God has brought us through.

I also find joy in helping people. Sometimes that means giving a client clarity about their finances. Other times, it means creating something encouraging through God’s Gyrl Boutique or supporting families through Kayla Cares. Starting Kayla Cares was especially meaningful because giving back had been on my heart for years. Seeing that idea become something real reminded me that even one act of kindness can make a difference.

For me, happiness is being present with the people I love and using what I’ve been given to serve others.
