Exploring Life & Business with Rayven High of Bodied by Ray LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rayven High.

Hi Rayven, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Fitness has always been a part of my life. I started young as a cheerleader, a passion that carried me through college. While in college, I had my first experience working with a personal trainer, and it completely shifted the way I viewed fitness—not just as an activity, but as a lifestyle.

After graduating from Mercer University with my bachelor’s degree, my cheerleading journey came to an end—and with it, my regular outlet for movement. I moved to Atlanta, started working as a bartender, and spent the next five years immersed in city life. When the pandemic hit in 2020, the bar I worked at closed, and like many others, I suddenly found myself without income or direction.

During that time, I began working out again with two close friends, and amidst the chaos of COVID, they each lost 30 pounds. Witnessing their transformation reignited something in me. As soon as the world began to reopen, I earned my personal training certification through NASM and registered my business the very next day. That was the beginning of Bodied by Ray—a brand built on resilience, empowerment, and the belief that movement can change lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a business starts with a leap of faith—and that alone is a major challenge. I never imagined myself becoming an entrepreneur, so stepping into this role meant learning everything from the ground up. Every part of the process was new to me: figuring out where to conduct sessions, how to structure my offerings, and most importantly, how to truly serve my clients’ needs.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that growth comes through community. I’ve had the privilege of helping many women on their fitness journeys, and in return, they’ve taught me just as much—about patience, adaptability, and how to become a better coach and business owner.

A continuing challenge I face is finding where I fit within Atlanta’s fitness scene. Atlanta is a major fitness hub, filled with countless trainers, classes, and bootcamps—it’s easy to feel overshadowed or overlooked. Carving out my own lane in such a saturated market has required persistence, creativity, and staying true to my brand and values. It’s not always easy, but I’ve learned that consistency, authenticity, and community connection will always set you apart.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Bodied by Ray is more than just a fitness brand—it’s a community-driven movement. We believe that real transformation happens when you’re surrounded by like-minded individuals who motivate and support each other. That’s why community is at the heart of everything we do.

We specialize in small group and personal training tailored to all fitness levels. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or you’re a seasoned athlete, our programs are designed to meet you where you are and help you grow. Our goal is to help every client become the strongest, healthiest version of themselves.

What sets us apart is the energy and identity behind our brand. Our signature “Bodied” merchandise isn’t just apparel—it’s an attitude. When you wear it, you embody confidence, strength, and self-worth. It’s about feeling good and looking good, both in and out of the gym.

What I’m most proud of is the incredible community we’ve built. At Bodied by Ray, we train hard, but we also make time for connection, fun, and giving back. We host monthly group outings like rock climbing, hiking, yoga, and pilates to stay active and engaged outside the gym. Beyond fitness, we’re committed to making a difference—whether it’s organizing back-to-school drives or supporting mothers in need during the holidays.

If you’re looking for a fitness experience that’s empowering, inclusive, and rooted in community, Bodied by Ray is the place for you.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a creative and energetic child with a vivid imagination. I loved arts and crafts—drawing, painting, and solving puzzles were some of my favorite pastimes. My mother made sure I had an enriched and well-rounded childhood, which I’m incredibly grateful for.

I started dancing at a young age, learning tap, jazz, and ballet, and I absolutely loved it. That passion naturally evolved into cheerleading, which became a major part of my life. I cheered all through middle school, high school, and college, and it truly shaped who I am. Cheerleading helped me develop confidence, discipline, and leadership—qualities that still define me today.

Even as a young adult, I was often seen as a leader—someone others turned to for advice or encouragement. That same spirit lives on in the work I do now. I cheer my clients on with the same enthusiasm I once brought to the field. I push them to show up, give their best, and believe in themselves—because that’s what I’ve always believed in.
