Exploring Life & Business with Tanmay Donti of FutureLead Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanmay Donti.

Hi Tanmay, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
FutureLead started in February 2025, born from two problems I noticed as a high school freshman. I wanted to learn about business and leadership, but there were hardly any opportunities to learn about either. And when these subjects were taught, the lessons were rarely engaging. Business and leadership are best learned by doing, not by sitting through a presentation. Rather than wait for someone else to fix that, I started FutureLead to mentor the next generation of students in these skills. It has since grown into an international organization making a real impact, with a large community following along.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have definitely been challenges. One of our biggest challenges came in our first couple of months, when we were a small local operation running workshops only for students. Our workshops taught business and leadership, then gave students fun, interactive activities to practice what they learned. A workshop like that feels far more lively with a bigger crowd, so when attendance was low, the workshop was less fun. That made the next one even smaller, and the cycle continued until only 7 students showed up. Thankfully, we broke out of it by organizing our systems, changing our marketing strategy, and improving the quality of our workshops. It was a very worrying time for the organization.

Another challenge has been understanding the legal side of running a non-profit. There’s no book that tells you how to operate or how to handle things like business registration and contracts, so as high schoolers we had to work hard to learn every process we needed. I’m thankful for these challenges, because they helped shape what FutureLead is today.

As you know, we’re big fans of FutureLead Inc.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
FutureLead is an international, student-led nonprofit founded in the Metro Atlanta area. Our mission is to mentor the next generation of students in business and leadership through interactive learning that puts them in the shoes of real-world leaders. We do this through five pillars.

Workshops: We’ve hosted 15+ workshops, each built around a business or leadership concept, where students apply the lessons by developing their own ideas and solutions to hands-on activities.

Policy: We’ve met with 10+ Georgia state senators and representatives to advocate for business and leadership education, including grant programs and easier access to opportunities in schools.

Chapters: We have 17 chapters across 8 states and 4 countries (India, Bangladesh, Uganda, and the USA), bringing our programming to students around the world.

Social Media: We’ve gained 200K+ Instagram views in just seven months of tracking, growing our reach and community.

Fundraising: We’ve raised $2.5K through donations and grants to fund our programs.

What does success mean to you?
I believe success is very subjective, so I think the definition will always vary. To me, success is measured by how impactful the work I have done is. I would consider FutureLead successful because we have truly impacted many people and helped give them real opportunities.
