Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Begley.

Hi Courtney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Courtney. I’m a travel advisor, boy mom, mental health advocate, and autism mom who loves sharing the real-life mix of motherhood, travel, and everything in between.

As a travel advisor, I specialize in helping families create memorable vacations, with a special passion for Disney, Universal, cruises, all-inclusive resorts, and autism-friendly travel. As an autism mom, I understand that every family travels differently and that thoughtful planning can make a huge difference.

I’m also passionate about mental health advocacy and using my voice to help break the stigma surrounding mental health. Whether I’m sharing travel tips, Disney adventures, motherhood moments, or honest conversations about mental health, my goal is to create a space where families and moms feel supported, understood, and inspired.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like so many people, I’ve experienced seasons of uncertainty, change, and figuring out who I am outside of the different roles I hold.

Motherhood began differently than I ever imagined. After my son was born, he went straight from the operating room to the NICU. Instead of the immediate moments together that I had pictured, I suddenly found myself navigating the emotions and uncertainty that come with having a baby in the NICU. That experience changed me and was one of my earliest lessons in motherhood, that things don’t always go according to plan and sometimes you have to find strength in circumstances you never expected to face.

As my son has grown, motherhood has continued to teach me about advocacy, patience, and embracing a different path. Becoming an autism mom meant learning how to advocate for him, better understand the way he experiences the world, and let go of the idea that there is only one “right” way for a child or family to experience life.

Mental health has also played a significant role in my journey. My own experiences have made mental health advocacy incredibly important to me. I’m passionate about having honest conversations, helping break the stigma surrounding mental health, and reminding people that we rarely know everything someone else may be carrying behind the scenes.

Being a military spouse has brought its own challenges as well including moving, starting over, being away from family, building new communities, and finding ways to continue pursuing my own goals through constant transitions.

At the same time, I’ve been building my career as a travel advisor while balancing motherhood and everyday life. There have been moments of self-doubt, setbacks, and plenty of trial and error, but each part of my journey has shaped who I am today.

I think that’s part of what makes my story mine. From the NICU to navigating an autism diagnosis, advocating for mental health, moving with the military, and building a business and career of my own, I’ve learned how important it is to advocate, adapt, and keep moving forward even when life looks completely different from what you originally imagined.

Adventures by Begley is my travel brand built around one simple idea: travel should feel exciting, not overwhelming. As a travel advisor, I help families take the stress out of vacation planning so they can focus more on the memories they’re going to make together.

I specialize in Disney destinations, Universal vacations, cruises, and all-inclusive resorts, with a particular passion for family, military, and autism-friendly travel. From choosing the right resort and navigating dining reservations to understanding accessibility options and creating an itinerary that works for a family’s individual needs, I help my clients through the many levels of planning that can make your dream vacation feel overwhelming.

What really sets my brand apart is the personal experience behind it. I’m not only a travel advisor, but I’m a boy mom, autism mom, military spouse, Disney College Program alum, and lifelong Disney fan. I understand firsthand that there is no one-size-fits-all family vacation. What works for one family may not work at all for another.

As a Certified Autism Travel Professional, autism-friendly and accessible travel is especially close to my heart. Traveling with my own son has given me a perspective that goes beyond simply knowing what accommodations are available. I understand the importance of considering sensory needs, routines, downtime, transportation, expectations, and flexibility when planning a trip. My goal isn’t to create the “perfect” vacation on paper; it’s to create a vacation that works for the family actually taking it.

I want clients to understand their options and feel confident going into their vacation rather than being handed an itinerary and left to figure everything out on their own. Whether someone is taking their very first Disney vacation or their 50th, there is always value in having someone in their corner who knows the destination and is invested in their experience.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Adventures by Begley reflects who I genuinely am. I don’t want social media to show only perfectly curated vacations. I share travel advice alongside real motherhood, Disney adventures, autism advocacy, mental health advocacy, and the realities of everyday life.

Ultimately, I want people to know that working with me is about more than booking a vacation. It’s about having someone who listens to your family’s needs, helps take the mental load of planning off your shoulders, and is there to guide you throughout the process.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My biggest advice when it comes to networking is to focus on building genuine relationships rather than approaching every interaction wondering what it can do for you. Some of the most meaningful connections happen simply because you start a conversation, support someone else’s work, or realize you have something in common.

As a military spouse, I’ve had to start over and rebuild my community more than once, which has really pushed me outside of my comfort zone. I’ve learned that sometimes you have to be the person willing to introduce yourself, attend the event where you don’t know anyone, send the message, or ask the question.

When it comes to mentorship, I think it’s important to find someone who has values and an approach you respect, not just someone who has achieved the title or level of success you want. A great mentor doesn’t necessarily have to have the exact same path as you. Sometimes the best advice comes from someone who can offer a completely different perspective.

I’ve also learned not to be afraid to ask for help or admit that I don’t know something. Whether in travel, business, advocacy, or motherhood, there will always be someone who knows more than you in a particular area and there will also be something you can teach someone else.

Networking can feel intimidating, especially if you’re naturally more reserved, but it doesn’t have to mean walking into a room and handing out business cards. It can start with one conversation. Be curious, be supportive, follow up, and most importantly, be yourself.
