Hidden Gems: Meet Guslene Bubak of RejuvaScalp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Guslene Bubak.

Hi Guslene , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into the beauty industry began more than 15 years ago as a licensed cosmetologist. I have always loved helping people feel confident, but as my career progressed, I realized that many clients were dealing with concerns that went far beyond styling. They were experiencing hair loss, inflammation, chronic scalp conditions, and other issues that traditional salon services were not designed to address.

That realization pushed me to learn more. I became a certified trichologist and hair-loss practitioner so I could better understand what was happening beneath the surface. I wanted to treat the root of the problem, not just cover up the symptoms.

In 2019, I left my corporate career and took a leap of faith into full-time entrepreneurship. Then, in December 2020, I opened The Salon Suite in Brooklyn. Building a business during the pandemic was not easy, but it taught me how to adapt, trust myself, and keep moving even when everything was uncertain.

As I continued working with clients, I saw a major gap between traditional cosmetology and clinical scalp care. That gap inspired me to create RejuvaScalp®, a results-driven scalp-care system that combines education, advanced technology, professional products, and personalized treatment protocols.

What began as a service for my own clients has grown into something much larger. Today, I train beauty professionals in scalp care and Japanese Head Spa services, provide clinical scalp and hair-restoration treatments, develop professional products, and support a growing network of RejuvaScalp practitioners across the country.

I am also pursuing my master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology because I want to understand not only how businesses grow, but also how people, leadership, and workplace systems affect that growth. My goal is to help beauty professionals become stronger practitioners, leaders, and business owners.

Getting to this point has required sacrifice, constant learning, and the willingness to reinvent myself more than once. I am still building, but I am proud that every stage of my journey has brought me closer to my purpose: helping people understand their scalp and hair concerns while creating better opportunities for professionals in the beauty industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Entrepreneurship has challenged me financially, emotionally, and personally. I left the security of a corporate career to pursue my vision full-time, and shortly afterward, I opened The Salon Suite during the pandemic. I had to build while figuring things out in real time.

One of my biggest challenges was creating something without a clear blueprint. When I began focusing on scalp care, the beauty industry was still centered heavily on styling and temporary solutions. I had to educate clients and professionals about the importance of scalp health while proving that this work could deliver real results.

Building RejuvaScalp required years of research, certifications, financial investment, and plenty of trial and error. I have also had to wear many hats from service provider and educator to product developer, marketer, and problem-solver.

The road has not been easy, but every challenge has made me more resourceful, intentional, and confident in my vision. It has helped me build something rooted in purpose, which makes the difficult seasons worthwhile.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
RejuvaScalp is a scalp care clinic and education company created to bridge the gap between traditional cosmetology and scalp health. We specialize in advanced scalp treatments, hair-loss support, Japanese Head Spa services, professional products, and education for beauty professionals.

We are known for supporting clients experiencing inflammatory, autoimmune, and infectious scalp concerns, including dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, scalp psoriasis, contact dermatitis, and folliculitis. We also work with clients experiencing excessive buildup, dryness, oil imbalance, irritation, and various forms of hair loss. We begin with a detailed scalp analysis and create a personalized treatment and home-care plan based on each client’s individual needs.

What sets RejuvaScalp apart is how we combine cosmetology, trichology, advanced technology, professional products, and education. Our approach is never one-size-fits-all. We look beyond the hairstyle to understand what is happening at the root, while also recognizing when a client should be referred to a dermatologist or another medical professional.

The education side of the company is equally important to me. Through our certification programs, I train beauty professionals to recognize common scalp concerns, perform advanced services safely, and build profitable, results-driven scalp-care businesses. RejuvaScalp has now grown beyond my treatment room into a network of practitioners across the country.

Brand-wise, I am most proud that RejuvaScalp represents both results and opportunity. We help clients feel heard and supported while giving beauty professionals the knowledge, systems, products, and confidence to expand their careers. I want readers to understand that scalp care is not simply a trend or luxury it is an essential part of healthy hair care.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I would not be where I am today without the support of my family, friends, mentors, and clients. My family and close friends have encouraged me through the difficult seasons of entrepreneurship, especially during the moments when I questioned myself or felt overwhelmed.

I am especially grateful to Dr. Camille Howard-Verović, a board certified dermatologist who trusts me with the scalp care of her patients and consistently recommends my services. Her confidence in my work has been both meaningful and validating. I am also thankful for my dear friend, Dr. Lourdie Honoré, who helped me develop my product formulations and continues to guide me in understanding the connection between internal health, the scalp, and the hair.

My clients also deserve a great deal of credit. They trusted me with their concerns, shared their experiences, and allowed me to learn and grow alongside them. Their results and feedback helped shape RejuvaScalp into what it is today.

I am also grateful for the RejuvaScalp practitioners who believed in the vision enough to bring it into their own communities. Although I founded the company, its growth has truly been supported by many people.
