Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Chase.
Hi Nicole, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was a stay-at-home mom of 4 girls for 14 years. My husband and I were selling our home while simultaneously purchasing a new construction home. Our real estate agent and her assistant were a dream to work with. Taking into consideration what the assistant was doing and that she was working from home, I started wondering if I could do something similar. In my mind, I could continue to be home with my children while making some extra money, but I never pursued it.
Soon after moving, I found myself going through a divorce, and life changed pretty quickly. For the first time in 14 years, I had to figure out how I was going to support myself and build a career. I didn’t have a college degree or a traditional work history to fall back on, and I had no idea what I was going to do.
What I eventually realized was that I did have experience. It just didn’t come from a traditional workplace. I had spent years managing a household, homeschooling my children, developing curriculum, organizing schedules, solving problems, and keeping countless moving pieces together. I started looking at those skills differently and thinking about where they could come into play professionally.
Then I thought back to the idea of becoming a real estate agent assistant. I knew becoming an agent immediately wasn’t practical. I needed consistent income and couldn’t afford to depend solely on commissions while starting over.
I started by applying for administrative and assistant positions across different industries.
One day while searching Indeed, I came across a company that specialized in matching assistants with high-producing real estate agents. I applied, was matched with a real estate team, and spent nearly two years working as an assistant.
When that chapter ended, I transitioned into transaction coordination, working with multiple agents and helping manage their contracts from binding agreement through closing. That eventually led me to another high-producing agent, whom I still work alongside today.
Those years behind the scenes gave me an education in real estate that I couldn’t have gotten any other way. I learned the business from the inside out including contracts, transactions, clients, negotiations, marketing, and all of the details that happen long before anyone gets to the closing table.
After several years of working in the industry, I decided it was time to get my real estate license. I’ve now been licensed for three years. Today, my career is a combination of working alongside an established agent while building a real estate business of my own.
Looking back, there wasn’t one grand plan that led me here. It was a series of events that started connecting when I needed them most. My path into real estate wasn’t traditional, but that has become one of my greatest strengths. I spent years learning how this business works behind the scenes before ever stepping into the role of agent myself, and I’m still building on that foundation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road and I continue to face daily challenges.
The biggest challenge in the beginning was simply figuring out how to start over professionally after being a stay-at-home mom for 14 years. I was entering the workforce without a college degree or a traditional résumé, while also experiencing a major change in my personal life and supporting my 4 daughters both mentally and physically. There was a lot of fear around what I could realistically do and how the skills I had developed over those years would translate into the workplace.
Once I found my way into real estate, the challenges changed. I spent several years working behind the scenes with successful agents. That gave me an incredible education in the business. However, there’s a big difference between knowing how to support someone else’s business and having the confidence to build your own.
I’m very comfortable being the person behind the scenes making sure everything gets done. Stepping out and saying, “This is what I know, this is the value I bring, and this is the business I’m building” has required a different kind of growth.
Real estate also has a way of constantly reminding you how much there is to learn. Getting your license is really just the beginning. Learning your market, building relationships, developing a client base, marketing yourself, and becoming someone people trust with such a major financial decision takes time. I’m still very much in that process.
I think one of the biggest lessons for me has been becoming comfortable with building as I go. I didn’t have everything figured out when I started, and I still don’t. When I look at where I started compared to where I am today, I’ve learned that I don’t necessarily need to have the entire path figured out. I just have to be willing to keep learning and taking the next step.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Nicole Chase Consulting LLC?
My real estate business is focused primarily on North Fulton and the surrounding Metro Atlanta area. A lot of my work is centered around Alpharetta, Roswell, Milton, Johns Creek, and Sandy Springs. I work with buyers and sellers, but I especially enjoy working with move-up buyers and people who are trying to figure out not just which house they want, but also the community that fits their desired lifestyle.
That’s an area I’m becoming increasingly passionate about. Buying a home is about so much more than bedrooms, bathrooms, and square footage. Two communities that look very similar on paper can offer completely different day-to-day experiences. I want my clients to understand those differences so they can make a decision based on more than a listing they found online.
Through my content, I spend a lot of time talking about North Fulton and Metro Atlanta real estate as well as what’s happening in the surrounding areas. I cover local developments, communities, restaurants, things to do, and the differences between areas like Alpharetta, Roswell, Milton, Johns Creek, and Sandy Springs. My goal is to become a resource people can follow long before they’re ready to call a real estate agent.
What I think sets me apart is the combination of the local focus along with my behind-the-scenes background of the real estate business. Before becoming an agent myself, I spent years assisting high-producing agents and coordinating transactions. As a result, I came into my own real estate career with a strong understanding of the details, contracts, communication, and organization required to actually close a deal.
I want to be known as someone who really knows North Fulton, understands the real estate side of the transaction, and helps people make informed decisions about where and how they want to live.
Ultimately, I don’t want someone to discover me only when they’re ready to buy or sell a house. I want them to have already found value in what I share, learned something about their community or a community they’re considering, and feel like they know who to call when it’s time buy or sell real estate.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Hitting rock bottom was grueling and scary, but it gave me clarity on the skills I had acquired as a stay-at-home mother and through homeschooling my children.
It would have been very easy to look at everything I didn’t have on paper and allow that to determine what I thought was possible.
Instead, I started with what I had, took an opportunity that put me behind the scenes of an industry I was interested in, and kept building from there.
I’m still building, and I actually think that’s an important part of my story. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Starting over doesn’t mean starting from nothing. Sometimes the skills, experiences, and even the difficult seasons you’ve already lived through become the foundation for what comes next.
