Hidden Gems: Meet Toni Thomas of The Toni Edit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toni Thomas.

Hi Toni, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I initially started off as a trained Interior Designer/Project Manager in High-End Interior Construction and Design. Then moved into Skincare by becoming a licensed Esthetician through Dermalogica Academy in 2015. That career shift developed out of my own curiosity about how to live life by holding space for women like me, caring for one another inside and out. Now, after being in the Wellness Industry for the past 10 years, I’m looking to expand on that concept and build containers for women to explore their transformative periods in life and journey together, supported by shared lived experiences and a connection to our own divinity.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been many struggles, and there still are. Living out a path that looks different to the norm is its own challenge, as there is no roadbook, there is no real way to measure if your progress is bringing you closer to your goals, you kind of have to just keep trying and learning on your feet. It’s also an internal practice of building a close relationship with your intuition, building resilience when you fall down and get back up, but each setback has a lesson, and ultimately, you define your own success. Success doesn’t look the same for everyone, but that understanding comes from unlearning messaging that was never ours and exploring what we actually want out of life.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Toni Edit?
A practitioner and guide, I hold space for women to explore their periods of deep transformation to reconnect to the divine wisdom they have walked with all along, but never had the opportunity to lead with. In my work as a holistic Esthetician, I met so many wonderful clients who shared the story of their skin but also a connection to something below the surface. Women are struggling with identity shifts (daughter to partner, mother, or caregiver) , we aren’t keeping space for our personal individualism and interests as we are constantly told we are aging out of places and spaces.
We are arriving at stations in our lives where everything falls away when we notice we are standing on a house of someone else’s dream we thought should be our own, or would heal us in someway.
We need spaces and circles were we can return to practices that explore the root of what we have been ignoring. Connect with women walking the path as well, in a community where the ‘ugly truths’ can be said and we can return to the parts of us we have neglected in sacrifice for everything and everyone else.

So the Toni Edit has evolved from just a holistic skincare practice to a community that explores various self-care tools and practices that allow women to walk through periods of deep transformation with support and greater self-knowledge.
We explore themes around using self-care as a way to tap back into our inner divinity, our energetic fingerprints to explore strategies that align us with the right opportunities, and inform a more grounded approach to life.
We support one another through shared stories, shared books and deep listening. It’s not about rushing through transformation, but it’s about the witnessing that can extract the most potent medicine in the reverence to personal evolution.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I think the advice I wish someone had given me is that business is not one size fits all. Learn from different people who got to where you want to be by different paths.

We each have a different energetic fingerprint. I think this can be helpful in recognizing which ways of working will align best with your energy type. It’s not a copy-paste adventure; it’s your life and journey at the end of the day.
