Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Woods.
Hi Becca, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When I graduated college Spring of 2023, I was assured that I would be able to get a job post grad, despite not being on a hunt for one during my Senior year. I soon realized that the job market had changed drastically, and not in a way that favored me or my skillset. At the end of 2023, I had come to the conclusion that I couldn’t just work a job, but I needed to be a job — my own boss, my own employee, social media manager, and so forth. That is how ImBeccable became to be: a creative hub that provides resources to creatives who are in the same space as me, creatively, personally, and professionally.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not! In the beginning, one of the main hardships of establishing my agency was establishing myself; I didn’t have all the necessary tools, experience, or assistance in order to elevate at first. But, my Alma mater taught me the importance of networking early on, and through my solid repertoire from A&T and the help of my parents, I was able to connect with so many professionals all over the country to assist me in my newfound creative journey, Being a Black woman in the media industry, it’s easy to feel as if you’re falling short due to those around you only providing insight on their wins. But, it became very clear very quickly that I was not the only one experiencing shortcomings, and for that, I was able to make for community within a space where people looked like me, thought like me, dreamed the same via social media!
We’ve been impressed with ImBeccable , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
ImBeccable Branding & Experiences is a creative agency rooted in branding, culture, and experiences. Founded by Becca Woods, ImBeccable helps brands, entrepreneurs, and organizations turn their ideas into identities people can not only see, but feel.
We specialize in brand strategy, social media marketing, creative direction, visual branding, and experiential activations, with a particular love for brands that have personality and something to say. From developing a brand’s visual identity and content strategy to producing pop-ups, markets, and community-centered experiences, we create the connective tissue between how a brand looks, how it communicates, and how people experience it in real life.
What sets ImBeccable apart is that we don’t believe branding stops at a logo or a pretty Instagram feed, for your brand is the experience people have with you. We approach every project with equal parts strategy and creative instinct, building brands that feel intentional without feeling overly polished or disconnected from the people they’re trying to reach.
We’re especially known for creating spaces and concepts that feel culturally relevant, playful, unapologetic, and genuinely community-driven. Projects like the Thick Chick Flea Market embody that philosophy by creating experiences where commerce, self-expression, local businesses, and community can exist in the same room.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building ImBeccable into a brand that reflects its founder: creative, bold, unconventional, and willing to challenge the “right” way to do things. Even the name is intentional. ImBeccable is a combination of “Becca” and “impeccable,” serving as a constant reminder that the work doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful, but it should always be distinctly mine.
Ultimately, I want readers to know that ImBeccable is for the brands that don’t want to blend in. Whether you need help figuring out what your brand is, making people care about it online, or creating an experience people will still be talking about after they leave, we’re here to make the idea feel as good in real life as it did in your head.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
This is an ironic question because when I was in kindergarten, I often received “Student of the Month” but I could never understand why I never received the “risk-taker” accolade that came with it, not fully understanding what “risk-taker” meant. Once my mom explained to me that it was someone that “did things without always knowing the outcome,” I knew immediately that I was not fit for the title, for I was comfortable with being comfortable.
20 years later, 3 moves, and a list full of “gone wrongs,” I can proudly say that risk taking runs in my blood fully, for ImBeccable coming to be was a huge risk in itself. Most people are in a position where they can’t fully invest into their dream due to having to maintain the expenses and responsibilities of an everyday adult life. But thankfully, I am one of the called who has the leeway to risk my time, energy, and income all on myself, and the risks have paid off every time. Even if it doesn’t reflect in a monetary way, it always does in a personal and/or professional way, contributing more and more to my “born rich, payment comes later” mantra.
