Inspiring Conversations with Nicole René of Passion 4 Fashion Week

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole René.

Hi Nicole, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey in fashion and beauty spans more than 25 years, and what started as a passion for style, creativity and producing fashion experiences eventually grew into something much bigger. Over the years, I’ve worked in fashion styling, beauty, retail, branding, public relations, event production and media, which gave me the opportunity to understand this industry from many different sides.

Producing fashion shows became a major part of my career, and eventually I created Passion 4 Fashion Week, a platform designed to give models, designers, beauty professionals and other creatives opportunities to be seen, developed and connected. What began as fashion shows has grown into a much larger ecosystem that includes model development, community partnerships, media opportunities, brand collaborations and events.

My career has also expanded into television and media, where I’ve been able to share my expertise in fashion, beauty and lifestyle, as well as publishing through Kulture Magazine. Today, I’m continuing to build platforms that connect fashion, beauty, media, culture and business.

When I look back, I realize that my career has never really been about just putting on fashion shows or styling people. It has been about creating access, building opportunities and showing people what is possible when their talent is given the right platform. That purpose is what has carried me from where I started to where I am today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely has not always been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been building something from a vision that other people couldn’t always see yet. There have been times when I’ve had to create opportunities instead of waiting for someone to invite me into the room.

I’ve experienced being underestimated, doors closing, limited resources, people not following through on commitments, and even moments when I’ve had to completely rethink plans at the last minute. Entrepreneurship has also taught me that everyone who starts the journey with you will not necessarily be there as you grow.

But those challenges have shaped the way I lead today. I’ve learned how to pivot, how to protect my vision, how to build relationships with people who genuinely believe in what I’m creating, and most importantly, how to keep going even when things don’t happen the way I originally planned.

I think some of my greatest accomplishments actually came from moments when I could have easily given up. Every obstacle forced me to become a better businesswoman, producer, creative and leader.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Passion 4 Fashion Week

Passion 4 Fashion Week (P4FW) is an Indianapolis-based fashion organization and production platform that creates opportunities for models, designers, beauty professionals, creatives and brands through fashion experiences, education, development, media exposure and community partnerships.

What sets P4FW apart is that we don’t just produce fashion shows, we develop the people who make the fashion industry possible. Our work includes runway productions, model development and coaching, designer opportunities, content creation, fashion and beauty events, media exposure, brand collaborations and experiences that connect emerging talent with established professionals and organizations.

Inclusivity has always been at the heart of P4FW. We believe talent isn’t determined by height, size, age, ethnicity or whether someone fits a traditional industry mold. We have created a space where people can develop their craft, build confidence and gain real experience while still being held to professional industry standards.

I’m especially proud of the ecosystem we’ve built. Models who began with us have grown into leadership and coaching roles. Creatives have gained opportunities beyond our runway. We’ve developed relationships with businesses, media outlets and community organizations that allow P4FW to create opportunities far beyond a single event.

As we continue to grow, my vision is for Passion 4 Fashion Week to be recognized not only as one of the leading fashion platforms in the Midwest, but as a pipeline for talent, business, media and opportunity.

At the end of the day, we put the passion in fashion, but our real product is opportunity.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
One thing I would love readers to know is that I am still building. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, but I don’t view my career as a finished story.

Indianapolis is home, and a major part of my vision has been proving that meaningful fashion, beauty and media opportunities can be created here while still having a reach that extends far beyond our city. I want emerging creatives to understand that they don’t always have to leave their city or wait for someone else to validate them to begin building something significant.

As I move into this next chapter, I’m focused on expanding the platforms I’ve created, developing more talent, creating larger partnerships and continuing to bridge fashion, beauty, business, media and culture.

More than anything, I want my legacy to be about what I built for other people to walk into. Success for me isn’t simply being known for what I’ve accomplished; it’s knowing that someone received an opportunity, gained confidence, built a career or dreamed bigger because a platform I created gave them room to do it.

I’m proud of where I’ve been, excited about where I’m going, and very clear that I’m not finished yet.
