Katelyn Youngblood shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Katelyn , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now is filled with lots of coffee, working & bring a mom and wife!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Katelyn & I run the page of Sweet & Sassy Apron! A few years ago, I decided to get into the charcuterie business and make beautiful cheese boards for customers. I ended up doing that for a couple of years.
I then found that my niche was in the kitchen creating & sharing recipes for my audience on social media.
I love being in the kitchen creating different recipes! From a homemade casserole, to a fun cocktail, to a beautiful cake for your next dinner party, I like to share a little bit of everything! I also like to share some of my favorite products & kitchen tips as well!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My dad has been the one who has taught me most about work. Since I was a child, he worked day & night to provide for our family. He taught us to always work hard for what we want in life. One of his favorite quotes is “Failure is not an option.” I have had that quote in the back of my head my entire life. It reminds me to never give up. We have always looked up to him & appreciated his hard work.
It never goes unnoticed!
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Do what you enjoy and do not worry what others think!
This has been something I am still telling myself to this day. Other people’s opinions of you do not matter, as long as you are happy!
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope they tell the story of how I lived out my dreams.
I have always loved to cook, since I was a little girl. Things may change here & there, but in my heart, my passion is in the kitchen.
