We’re looking forward to introducing you to Max Julius Records. Check out our conversation below.
Max Julius Records, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
People may think we are strictly a music label/collective. But we are also a brand/network. We don’t specialize in just music we are currently working on short films/visuals, clothing and merch.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We are a music brand/label mainly consisting of hiphop and RnB/Soul.
Our artists have released singles and projects in the past. But as a collective we are currently planning on the release of our first album featuring our artists Billy Vetti, TEAtyauna and Phresh Bueller. We are also working on releasing our clothing/merch line. Our upcoming album will also have merch and vinyls for sale.
Our artist Billy Vetti and producer Phresh Bueller started working together as a duo called “Bakers Dozen” in 2015 after meeting at a local barbershop. 5 years laters Billy and TEA met at the studio in Atlanta, GA and that is when Max Julius was formed with Phresh Bueller as the producer.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When we formed together and realizing in addition to having in-house production/beat making we also learned how to record ourselves and learned the ins and outs of the studio. This is what made us become or feel powerful because of the self sufficiency.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Never. There maybe times of discouragement but there is no stopping.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
We are “us” no matter where we are.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That they were some cool aesthetic individuals who made good art.
