Hi Money Way, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: When was the last time you felt true joy?
I feel true joy everyday. It’s just life’s battles that try to break that joy but I’m a true believer in the most high and with that I know nothing can still my joy.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I go by the name Money Way Vegas, from Jonesboro Ga (Clayco). I’m mainly a rap artist but I do more than rap. I’m a business man with many talents. What makes my brand interesting is how I’m bringing real music back to where it belongs, actual hits, club bangers, music that’s going to actually last in this industry. I come from nothing literally, my mom and dad were in the streets heavy and were in and out of prison so I was raised by the drug dealers and gangsters all my life, mostly. My aunt adopted me when I was 7 and I grew with my cousins until I was 14 that’s when my mom got custody of me again. I grew up thinking sports was my way out until I lost the love for playing it then I picked up some skills from cousins and learned how to rap ,make beats and record myself at a young age. The rest is history and here I am. I’m currently working staying consistent with dropping music and content creation on the promo and marketing side of things. I’ve been dropping singles but it’s all gearing me up to drop my 3rd mixtape soon, definitely this year.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I use to believe I was next Michael Vick or Adrian Peterson until 12th grade and my life changed completely. I thought sports was definitely going to be my success story.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t worry about what people think of you. Stay focused. You are who you think you are. In due time all your dreams are going to come true.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Becoming the greatest of all time in this industry or at least of one of the greats.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That no matter what he did it his way and he helped so many people along the way. He paved a way for people with no hope to have all the hope in the world made their dreams come true the same way he did his own and never treated people differently everybody got the same love and respect no matter what.
