We’re looking forward to introducing you to Mrs Kane. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Mrs , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Well all of my days are pretty much easy. They all Consists of strategizing, and content creating; while also working On new designs for my brand. Spending time with my husband when he has free time, as well As talking to family.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello my name is Mrs Kane. I am a Brooklyn NY native. Currently residing in Broward county Florida.
I am a self taught fashion designer and well known YouTuber.
My first passion and love is fashion. I started at age 9 in Brooklyn New York.
I learned in my own how to hand sew and sew on a sewing machine creating beautiful designs that I drew and thought of. When my career first started in fashion design, I started out designing clothes for friends and family. Birthday dresses, prom dresses, and swim wear. With the support from friends and family I was able to better my craft in sewing. Spending days and nights learning about different fabrics and stitches, how to insert zippers , buttons , draw strings etc.
When I turned I moved to Atlanta in 2012 where my career went a lil further. I started designing exotic dancewear for well known exotic dancers it’s also the time frame where I was invited to nyfw. I designed clothes for nyfw there different years, under another clothing brand that I soon later separated from. And decided to create my own brand “The Kane Couture” which consisted of glam wear. Glamorous dresses, glamorous swimwear etc. After The Kane Couture started to grow there were many different issues that came into play such as name infringement. “Someone had stole my name” is what I kept saying g to everyone be I couldn’t believe it. But after a long careful rebrand doing things the correct way behind the scenes I created La Auxesia.
La Auxesia is a Greek term for “Goddess” as well as “The goddess of change”
So I decided to rebrand with this name. I love to create garments to make women feel like a goddess.
Which now consists of skin mesh, which is mesh that looks like your skin, with nude to bright colors, crystals, leather, and denim.
On the days I am not designing clothing I am focusing on my YouTube “Mrs Kane” brand. Where I am an animated storyteller and vlogger.
I tell stories about things I have went through in my life and I animate the stories to help viewers feel like they are there and to understand more better.
I also tell stories from other people that send me their stories and I animate those as well.
Most of my stories I would sit and sew designs on my sewing machine while telling the stories and my viewers love it !
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mother… she always told me I have a gift. What ever I want to do in life to do it, and she has always supported me in the decisions I made because she believed in me and still does !
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When I started my YouTube channel, I started to speak more and speak on different things that I went through in my life to get to where I am now. After doing this I realized how many people I actually helped and influenced them to keep going in life. It’s never time to give up, you have to keep going. Although some days will be harder than others, it’s all a test keep the faith and strength because your purpose is not over yet !!
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
YES! I think it’s really hard to put up a facade on a daily basis. It’s draining and it’s like living a double life lol, to the point where you end up actually forgetting who you really are. It’s easier to be yourself all the time !!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Actually nothing. I am actually content with how things are going for me career and life wise !
