We’re looking forward to introducing you to Sara Sasic. Check out our conversation below.
Sara, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Interesting question! I like to romanticize my “normal days.” Usually, my normal day starts with a morning routine and goes very unexpectedly—as an interior designer’s day usually does! It starts with meditation and gratitude, followed by a matcha latte and my favorite part: glamming up for work! Hopefully a workout as well. But after that, it’s a mixture of creativity, different interior design tasks, meetings, networking, etc.! I like to look at every day as a new chapter and make the most fun of it.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I love to design, and as an interior designer, I find inspiration in everyday life—everywhere around me, from the simplest details to the grandest moments! There is so much beauty around us, and it’s up to us to notice it. I think that point of view is what makes me unique. I’m currently working at the incredible Sims Patrick Studio in Atlanta, focusing on creating beautiful luxury hotels and memorable experiences for the people who visit them. I also have the opportunity to work on big brands such as Hotel Hilton, Marriott, Indigo, and many more!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
Earlier in my life, I wanted to be a fashion designer. I pursued fashion in high school and early college before I switched to interiors. Fashion still has my heart because it made me feel very powerful when I was younger. Fashion always gave me confidence! From drawing unique designs and listening to music in my room to dressing up every morning the way I wanted—those are my first memories of feeling truly powerful!
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. There were times I wanted to give up on specific goals because things seemed impossible or out of my control… but looking back, even when things felt impossible, it all worked out because I pushed myself to try “just one more time”—and that made all the difference. Today, I absolutely don’t believe in giving up. No matter how hard it gets, it’s simply not an option.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am definitely committed to every project I am working on. Sometimes interior design projects can take years, and you have to stay committed through every phase—no matter how long it takes. I love seeing the process and progress along the way, especially when you finally get to experience the finished product after such a long journey. It’s a very rewarding feeling!
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I live by the mindset that whatever I do, I make sure I give my best—because that’s how you create your legacy. At the end of the day, everything I do is for the best version of myself, even if I’m the only one who sees it. But in reality, people definitely notice it too!
