We’re looking forward to introducing you to vieira owens. Check out our conversation below.
vieira, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
One of my most recent and proud moments was securing a contract with a major pet medication company. This opportunity was especially meaningful because it was my first time participating in a trade show, which was a new and exciting experience. Being part of VMO Events has allowed me to grow and diversify my skills beyond my usual focus on weddings and personal events. It’s truly rewarding to see how VMO Events is expanding into the corporate side of the industry, and I feel proud to be part of that journey. This achievement reflects my dedication to creating memorable and successful events across different sectors, and I’m excited to continue evolving and taking on new challenges
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Vieira Owens, Atlanta born and bred, and your new best friend in event planning. I started my journey working alongside a top-notch event planner, learning all the secrets to making magic happen behind the scenes.
I thrive on transforming spaces from “meh” to “WOW!”—whether it’s perfecting the décor or managing timelines like a pro. My goal is to make your event planning experience as fun and stress-free as the event itself, filled with smiles, happy tears, and maybe even a little confetti.
With my business and strategy expertise, I ensure everything runs smoothly so you can enjoy the celebration. Let’s team up, get creative, and make memories you’ll cherish for years to come. Are you ready for some fun? Because I sure am!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that truly shaped how I see the world was when my favorite person in the world passed away. It was a very difficult time for me—publicly, I felt lost and questioned everything. It hit me hard mentally and emotionally, and for a while, I lost motivation and struggled to find my drive. However, over time, I realized that I couldn’t let life just happen to me. I needed to take control of my own journey and outlook.
That experience taught me the importance of resilience, perspective, and mindfulness. I made a conscious decision to stop dwelling on the past and instead focus on how I could move forward and grow from the situation. It was a transformative period that helped me develop a stronger sense of purpose and the understanding that setbacks are part of life, but they don’t define me.
Since then, I’ve become more intentional about my goals, more resilient in facing challenges, and more appreciative of each moment I have. That experience deeply influenced how I approach my personal and professional life, emphasizing perseverance, adaptability, and the importance of taking control of my destiny.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
The moment I stopped hiding my pain and started using it as power came when I realized that my hyper-independence was actually holding me back instead of propelling me forward. For a long time, I believed that I had to handle everything on my own, thinking it was a sign of strength. But over time, I understood that this mindset isolated me and prevented me from asking for help or learning from others. Once I accepted that I don’t have to face challenges alone, I was able to acknowledge my pain, process it, and turn it into motivation for growth. Rather than seeing vulnerability as a weakness, I now see it as an important source of resilience and authentic strength. This shift helped me embrace teamwork, seek support when necessary, and channel my experiences into empowering both myself and those around me.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me. No matter the situation, what others see is genuinely who I am. It’s hard for me to pretend, whether around others or even with myself, so my reactions are always honest—if I don’t like something, it shows. Authenticity is important to me, and I believe in being transparent and true to my values at all times. This approach helps build trust, as people always know where I stand and that my words and actions match
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
The story I hope people tell about me when I’m gone is that I made a genuine, positive impact on their lives by letting them know they’re never alone. Much of my journey involved trying to figure out things on my own, striving to be perfect for everyone around me. But in hindsight, I realized how much I needed and actually had a supportive community. If I could go back, I’d focus less on perfection for others and more on authenticity for myself.
Through every project I pursue, whether in my event planning business or upcoming podcast, my goal is to leave a meaningful legacy. I hope people see that I’ve devoted myself to helping others grow, find love, and face life’s challenges honestly. My work, like “No Kid Left Behind,” is about sharing the message that it’s okay not to have all the answers, and it’s okay if everyone’s journey looks different. I want to inspire people to embrace their own path, knowing it’s perfectly fine to be exactly where they are, as long as it’s right for them.
Ultimately, I want my legacy to be one of connection, encouragement, and authentic growth—a reminder that with support, compassion, and courage, anyone can leave their mark on others in a powerful, lasting way.
