Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Zeus Da Comedian of Columbus,GA

Zeus Da Comedian shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Zeus Da , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? When have you felt most loved—and did you believe you deserved it?
This is such a great question. I feel loved every day by my five kids, my mother, and my siblings but the person who makes me feel it the most is my wife, Talisha Young. We’ve been together since we were teenagers, so we share that whole “high school sweethearts” story, filled with ups and downs. I can be a difficult person to love sometimes because I’m always pushing myself to be better, and that comes with a lot of losses and only a few wins in between. Whenever I fall short and feel like I’m letting everyone down, Talisha has always been there to lift me up and remind me of my worth; she fixes my crown, so to speak. It’s hard not to feel loved by her every single day. Do I always believe I deserve it? Honestly, no. I make sacrifices chasing my dreams, but she makes just as many, if not more. That’s real love.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Zeus Da Comedian, a multi-talented entertainer, stand-up comedian, and content creator from Columbus, Georgia. My journey into entertainment has taken a lot of twists and turns from starting my independent label Street Ambitionz Ent. to launching The Match One Podcast, which really gave me the confidence to use my voice in bigger ways. By 2017, I stepped fully into comedy, and I’ve been chasing that light ever since.

What sets me apart is that my comedy is real, it comes straight from my life, from being a husband and father of five, to navigating setbacks, to finding joy and laughter in everyday experiences, even in the hard times. I like to say I wasn’t just put here to make people laugh I was put here to heal through laughter. That’s why you might catch me on stage, but also on screen playing Suge Diddy in my By Force YouTube series or Dr. Zeus in a skit, or behind the camera creating content that pushes boundaries.

Right now, I’m focused on growing my brand both locally and online, continuing to perform live shows, dropping new skits and episodes weekly, and working on bigger projects that bring my characters and comedy to new audiences. My goal is to make people laugh, but also to inspire anyone chasing their dreams.

At the end of the day, I don’t just see myself as a comedian I see myself as an experience. There are stars, there are superstars, there are megastars… and then there are planets. I’m a planet. I’ve got my own orbit, my own gravity, and I’m bringing people along for the ride.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Another great question, and again, my answer is my wife, Talisha. She’s been in my life since we were teenagers and has seen me grow into the man I am today. She’s always believed in me, even when I couldn’t see it in myself. She encouraged me to go back to school and get into cybersecurity. Early in our marriage, she told me I should try comedy; something I brushed off back then, but she already saw the gift in me. I always say the right Queen will put her King on the right path, and that’s exactly what she has done for me. So, forgive me if I repeat myself, but so much of who I am is connected to the role she’s played in my life.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self: Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams. Growing up, we weren’t taught much about dreaming big we were taught to survive, get a job, and provide, especially since I became a father young and married early. But I would tell him: try comedy. Take a shot at Broadway. Keep playing sports, because you were good at that. And yes, you’re a Georgia Bulldogs fan for life (Go Dawgs!), but don’t sleep on Auburn, they’re right up the street it’s obtainable. Be smarter with your money and look into stocks, especially something called Apple, trust me on that one! And most importantly, know your worth. You’re a young King, worthy of everything you desire. Don’t let anyone tell you different.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
That Black is beautiful and Black is everything. Don’t get me wrong, I love everybody but there’s something about us that I hold close. I protect our real truth, our real history the parts that are often hidden or rewritten. That’s something I’ll always stand for.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Yes, I believe I’m doing exactly what I was born to do. I’ve always known I was put here to make people laugh and to shine. But I see myself as more than just a star. “There are stars, superstars, megastars…and then there are planets, out of this world and I am a planet.” That’s a quote from Zeus Da Comedian, so don’t try to steal it!
