Life & Work with Eternity

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eternity.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Ever since I was a child, I knew what I desired. Teaching, modeling, entrepreneurship, and acting all interested me. I have been journaling and fell in love with poetry ever since I could remember. I used to write stories of the life I desired to live. I acted out movie scenes on the bedroom floor of my room and would practice my runway walk down the hall of my childhood home. All of these outlets is how I created my business. My love for the arts run deep to my soul. The feeling of not being enough or that I did not belong in my family – creating was the only thing that made sense to me. I am an actor, model, author, spoken-word artist, and dance instructor. I created Eternal Fitness Studios with love during the pandemic. We host open mic nights and teach dance. Dancing has always been one of my favorite hobbies and exercise. My goal is to create spaces for other artists of all kinds to feel welcomed, grow and be encouraged to be authentic. I was blessed to have an open mic to attend for many years to practice and share my poetry with an audience. Being vulnerable on stage is not easy, but it has been my home. It is beyond healing for me. Sharing my story in my books and performing allows others to feel safe enough to share their stories with me. I am a humanitarian. My goal is to inspire people to be their best selves. My mission statement is Your Story is Your Power.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all. My life has been full of trials and tribulations. I never related to anyone in my family and so I created my own family along my journey. I made friends with people who understood me and had similar interests. There was a lack of empathy in my upbringing that made me the highly sensitive individual I am. I learned now in my 30s to parent myself. I understand clearly that my parents did the best they could with what they had. Growing up, I never felt heard or understood. I was silenced quite often. I felt like the black sheep. Writing is easier for me than speaking most days. Working “regular” jobs never satisfied me. I was underpaid and work very hard since I was a teenager. Every manager I worked for did not value me. I was miserable in previous jobs and on the poverty level my entire adult life. I have had to have three surgeries that forever changed my life. During those healing times, I was not able to work. I felt broken inside for many years. Many people have let me down so I became quite independent. I am thankful to my loved ones for seeing my true self and accepting me. The support is beyond appreciated. Writing and my other artistic outlets, saved my life. If it wasn’t for my circle uplifting me during my darkest hours, I would not be here. Even when it got really dark, deep down, I always knew I would blossom. I own that I looked for love in all the wrong places. However, experiencing true love with amazing friends along the way has been a saving grace. My faith, determination and years of self-work has made me the woman I am today. I did not have much money, but I never stopped believing that my passions would become my paycheck.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a multifaceted artist, I perform spoken-word poetry at different venues. I am also open and apply to acting and modeling jobs. I am focused on hosting open mic nights for poets, singers, and rappers here in ATL. I also teach dance – my style of dance is usually choreographed to reggae, afro beats, and hip hop. I enjoy the freedom of dance and showing people a good time while also working out. My company provides private and group dance classes. I am a licensed zumba instructor as well. So my energy is in creating spaces for artists of different kinds to create and gain confidence in their crafts. Truly building community and relationships with other artists is my passion and reason for Eternal Fitness Studios. Currently, I am finishing up my 5th book and I am very excited to release it! It will be completed before the year ends. I write in the chapters of my life. My books are to encourage people so they know that they’re not alone in their journey. I am very open about my experiences and the lessons I have learned and continue to learn. My books mainly focus on relationships – romance, friendships, and family. Life is all about relationships, in my opinion.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Going to six flags with my family as a kid and just hanging at the park down the street from my house with my friends. I made a lot of memories at that park.
