Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Tabb.

Hi Marcus, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story begins in Chicago where I grew up. There I always practiced performing whether it was at church, doing theatre or slam poetry. Then I graduated high school and went to college at Clark Atlanta University where I expanded my network as well as my talent. By my senior year at Clark in 2020, I began my stand-up comedy journey through Atlanta’s open mic scene. Since then I have performed nationally and internationally alone and as well as hosted on a nationwide tour. I’ve always had a passion to do stand up I just never knew where, when or how.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My entire experience has been smooth because I look at the obstacles as learning lessons. Whether this is learning how to entertain a new demographic you’ve never performed in front of before or learning how to promote yourself and conduct your talent as a business. It goes without saying there is a challenge in every endeavor, however I love learning and re-learning because it always makes me better.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a stand-up comedian, an actor, a spoken word artist and an amazing host. My main focus currently being standup comedy where I bring witty, intelligent and relatable humor to audiences all over. Im most proud of the fact that I’m actually using my theatre arts degree and generating income through it, because a lot of people told me I wouldn’t. What sets me apart from others is my understanding of the world, we all have a view that is different based on our environments but my comedy is like no other. Also having a poetic and theatre background adds extra flavor to a performance.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories, is in third-grade I played the lead role of “Charlie” in the school play, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. It was then that I knew I was born to be on stage and shine.
