Life & Work with Maurisia Stansil of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maurisia Stansil.

Hi Maurisia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ll start my story at the point of my spiritual awakening back in 2015. I was living in Anchorage, Alaska at the time, married with two children and only 26 years old. I worked as clinical associate for a local community mental health practice serving youth with behavioral challenges. Something within me started waking up as I realized that there was much more to my life than what I was living. I started to become tired of clocking into the same job and living on someone else’s terms, even though I enjoyed the work I did. I wanted more for my children. I wanted more for myself. I started reading more about energy, esoteric, and spiritual things, which eventually lead me to start practicing yoga and studying reiki on my own. One day, I watched a YouTube video about opening up my chakras, and it seems like from there, nothing was ever the same. I ended up quitting my job, opening up my own jewelry and body oil business (Queen Beads by Reese, which was later named, With Love, by Reese). I closed the chapter to my 5-year marriage, which ended in my fleeing Alaska with my children after a traumatic series of domestic violence events. While some may see this as devastating, it was the most divine launch deeper into my purpose! After slowly starting the process of rebuilding my life, I moved back to Georgia, continued studying reiki, and eventually became trained and certified as a Naturopathic Reiki Master Teacher under Dr. Akua Gray. I opened a home office in my tiny rental home with my two children as we rebuilt our little life. I started teaching reiki classes, grew my businesses, while also working part time to stay afloat. This was the most terrifying and liberating time of my life! Eventually, myself, my new life partner, and my children moved to Las Vegas, Nevada for a work opportunity where I continued to grow my spiritual practice. I opened up a healing office there while also working for a behavioral health agency. My partner and I also opened a cleaning business during our Vegas stay. After another family loss, we moved back to Georgia, but this did not stop my healing work. I opened an office in East Point, GA, under my former business name, Healing for My People, which was birthed from With Love, by Reese. At my new office space, I continued to teach and certify student in Naturopathic Reiki, sat with clients who came for spiritual guidance, all while mothering my two growing children. My healing work was always a steady thread through raising my family and growing as a woman. In 2022, I started the journey of motherhood all over again. My life partner and I welcomed our first baby girl in May of 2022. This marked a huge shift in the way I showed up for my healing work in the community, as it called for me to slow down and ground myself in a new era. It was time for me to have space held instead of holding the space for others. It was time for me to go within deeper and heal myself even more through the process of matrescence. Motherhood looked different than it did before with my older children from my previous marriage since I was literally a different person. We had a home birth, and I breastfed my daughter for two years exclusively. In 2024, we had our second home birth, which was unassisted. By this time my life shifted fully into anchoring into family life as we continued to build while growing. If you know about building the foundation as you go, then you may know how complex and challenging this is. Now, I am a mother of four, rooted in my healing work, and focused on growing my village. My work has shifted from proving energy healing to connecting with mothers and finding ways to still expand through my multitude of purposes. During this time, I re-birthed my business, With Love, by Reese, but this time it was a sacred space of serving women & mothers through my lived lessons, I was between two postpartum timelines having had two children in four years, still becoming. Even though I had birthed more babies, became apparent that the work and the community was needed more than ever. Coming to the present, 2026, I just birthed my fourth girl along with birthing many truths collected from the journey over the past 10 years. I am currently 8 weeks Postpartum with an almost-2-year old, a 4 year old, a 13 year old, and a 14 year old. I am growing in my partnership of 9 years, I am reinventing myself again. I am finding ways to weave in my passions and purpose into all of my newfound responsibilities. Everything looks different than when I first began. I have withheld quiet a bit of more of the darker times that I have faced due to not being sure how much to share here, but just know that I am deeply called to share my wisdom & lessons now more than ever before.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This road has been everything but smooth! I would not change it for anything because it has truly shaped me into the woman that I am today. Some of the struggles that I dealt with include surviving domestic violence, healing from a divorce, moving across the country twice, finding love again, growing a lifelong partnership, rebuilding my entire life with children depending on me, growing a blended family, supporting my partner through grief after losing several people close to him, dealing with a toxic co-parenting relationship from my ex-husband, facing financial struggle (two car repossessions, several evictions, living with family members until getting on my feet, etc). and the depth of the healing journey in general all while mothering children.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Energy healer, Naturopathic Reiki Master teacher, Certified Naturopathic Clinician, Priestess, spiritual coach~ these are a few of the labels that I accept for my line of work. I specialize in sitting with people and making them feel seen, exploring their blockages, creating a space where they can see how to heal themselves through whatever medium they so choose. Most of what I do is clearing energetic blockages for those seeking alignment and clarity. While my work is also in a “becoming” stage after the last four years of growing my family, I am still very much rooted in teacher others how to heal themselves holistically. My work is shifting now to supporting women & mothers as the divine feminine rises.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the spiritual and energy work industry growing exponentially over the next 5-10 years as women continue to awaken to their power and as people, in general, begin to seek alternative ways to heal the root of their physical/mental/emotional/spiritual challenges. We as a people are becoming more rooted in things that are sustainable and true rather than processed and temporary. The work that I do is centered in spiritual health and the longevity of a person’s being. While the work may not always be understood, it is indeed the work that will hold us as we heal and grow universally. Some people call the work “new age”, which is a term I stay away from, because this work is ancient. Healing ourselves from an energetic standpoint, taking a look at our imbalances and where they stem from, paying attention to our patterns and how they create our circumstances, owning our ability to heal~ these are all apart of the work. It has also been documented more now than ever before, holistic approaches to healing in the modern medical fields. I am excited to see how this work grows.
