Today we’d like to introduce you to Queen Frost.
Hi Queen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I don’t know where to start lol. Well since our last interview when you posted my story as Fro$t back in 2022 – so much has changed!
As I stated before I have been writing since I was a little girl. I always had a vivid imagination. My mom was really into movies so I wrote my own movie when I was nine and then I said to myself I wanted a soundtrack for my movie which is why I started writing music.
Eventually I signed with some indie labels. I worked with a lot of mainstream artist and was pushing to become that myself but somehow no matter how close I came to that finish line – something always happened to stop me from crossing it.
I used to blame it on bad business, bad decisions, timing, execs, the industry and of course myself but the truth is my tree couldn’t bear fruit there because it was planted in the wrong soil.
God had told me at 19 – right after I did my first mixtape with The Affiliates, to read the Bible and translate the stories and messages through my rap. I started reading the bible and taking notes but told myself “I’ll do this when I’m older”…
The older and older I got, I kept putting it off chasing what I thought I was supposed to create to garner validation from the world and my peers as an artist- continuing to ignore the yearning of my spirit to surrender it to Him.
Finally in 2025, after battling depression mostly due to feeling like a failure I realized my whole life that “making it” became my “God” and I had put my love of music/entertainment before my love for God so I quit. I told God, I will no longer value my career over our relationship. I continued serving in church and spending more time with Him and one day I clearly heard Him tell me – “I never told you to quit music, I told you to do it for Me”.
From that moment I started doing freestyles to glorify Jesus and the Kingdom. Completely left the secular world with no intention of trying to get a deal or “make it” – just enjoying obeying my Father’s will for my life and spreading the gospel, helping others find their faith and strength in the Lord! And then God made me go viral lol. My Christian music is reaching more people and for a greater cause bigger than myself- than my worldly music ever did!
Today I am just grateful that He didn’t give up on me when I gave up on myself and is still using me for His glory!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I probably answered that under the other question lol.
I struggled with depression because I didn’t know who I was if I wasn’t an artist.. I had been trying to be successful for so long with a massive gift that no one could deny and never making it so I felt crazy at times… worthless.. broke and all the other emotions the enemy plants in our minds to keep us stuck but as soon as I surrendered and gave my life to God – I found my identity in Christ and I have been the happiest I’ve ever been! At peace knowing I am in alignment.
Taking the narrow road is never easy but the reward is far greater than the challenges
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m known for making a “G-Mix” (God Mix) aka a remix of popular or viral songs into Christian versions for the Kingdom.
Some people have issues with it but they weren’t on the phone when God called me lol so it’s ok.
I’ve been doing this in the privacy of my home and/or my head since I was a teenager though. I would interpret rnb love songs as praise songs to God or if something really vulgar was stuck in my head I would make a positive version for myself lol. Now I’m doing it for anyone else who needs an alternative way to worship. Challenging the flesh to choose the Godly message over the worldly one.
At first I was doing it because 1 – the Holy Spirit would speak to me and 2 – I didn’t have the type of tracks I wanted to start creating my own original songs but now I see it’s a way to attract the 1 and bring them into the 99.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Fulfilling my purpose through His will – not my own because when it’s my time to go I want to hear “well done” not that He never knew me.
