Life & Work with Raja Green-Hornes of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raja Green-Hornes.

Hi Raja, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is RAJA. I’m an 18-year-old singer, songwriter, and dancer from Atlanta, Georgia, and I’m currently a senior at Utopian Academy of the Arts.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 6 and autism at age 9, and those experiences have played a major role in shaping who I am as both a person and an artist. Music became a way for me to express myself, tell my story, and turn challenges into something positive.

I wrote my first song, “Better,” at 14, and since then I’ve continued growing and developing my sound. My song “Dance in the Rain” charted at #12, and I’ve also worked with super producer K Major and released my singles “Dip” and “Roll the Dice.”

I’m also a member of the Atlanta Music Project and Usher’s New Look Spark Club, which have both helped me grow as an artist and performer.

For me, music is bigger than just being successful. I want to inspire other young people, especially those with autism and ADHD, to know that being different can be part of their strength. I’m RAJA, and I’m just getting started.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
With me having autism I may be misunderstood or underestimated because my communication style, emotional expression, or behavior may be different from what industry professionals traditionally expect. So I’ve been told that I don’t seem excited or enthused when that’s not the case at all. I love doing music.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Singer, song writer, dancer, actor and I play the piano. My specialty is singing.
Well I’m known as a new and rising artist for now, hopefully that changes soon. Most proud…..ummm I am proud of my work as an artist. The new music that I have coming out is pretty good. I worked hard on the tracks and the video shoots were a lot of long days. It’s an accomplishment for me. I’m also proud of my family.
Authenticity, what you see is what you get. I can be blunt sometimes when I shouldn’t be, my mom usually gives me a look lol.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is creating a career where I can stay true to myself, create music that connects with people, and inspire others especially young people with autism and ADHD to believe they can achieve their dreams. I want longevity, ownership, financial freedom, and the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on music and entertainment.
Success is not just being known it’s being remembered.
