Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Minter.

Hi Breanna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started gaining an interest in music when I was very young. I was inspired the most by classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and the Beatles. They’re my big 3 of inspiration even though I’m a metal musician. I started playing guitar when I was around 11. I taught myself everything so I do a lot of things differently. The ATL music scene kind of found me, to be honest, and I joined my first band (playing bass) when I was 20.
I’ve met a lot of fantastic people in the scene, and a lot of people I’m proud to call my friends.
I joined First One Dies in 2026, which is my current project. First One Dies was a band that I have admired for a while, so being asked to join in April was awesome. We dropped our first single under this lineup in May, its called ‘Nightmare’. We are also getting ready to release an EP which I’m really excited about. I got to write lyrics for the first time for two of the tracks which are pretty personal to me, so this is a collection of songs I’m really really proud of.

With photography, I was a journalist for over 5 years working at my old local newspaper as the Assistant Managing Editor. So, I did alot of photography. I got really into it, I even won a few state awards through the AL Press Association. I started doing concert photography this year and it’s been really fun basically documenting our local scene. It’s going to be really fun one day when I’m old and look back at all the photography I’ve done and remember all the recognizable faces in the crowds. This scene is a big family to all of us. I’ve met a lot of great bands across the Southeast doing photography, which has been really interesting and mutually beneficial.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a woman in this music industry has been no joke unfortunately . I’ve had to prove myself as a musician of equal talent to my peers in this scene to be where I am now. I’m happy with the crew I’m with now though, and they all respect my contributions and we’ve had a-lot of writing sessions together. I’ve been in a lot of uncomfortable situations in this industry so its nice to finally feel like I’m on an level playing field now that I’ve been around for a couple of years and learned a lot.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a 22 year old metal guitarist in Atlanta Georgia. My band is called First One Dies, which is a deathcore project.

I also do concert photography for the Middle GA metal scene under my business Deadication Studios.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I would say I’ve had fairly good luck so far. My first show with my first band was a festival in Ohio with Static-X. My photography business has also grown very fast and been very busy thanks to the scene’s support.
