Meet Carlton Jones of Chicago

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlton Jones.

Hi Carlton, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I always been a writer. In high school I wrote two books and also a one act play. As I got older I never stopped writing. During the pandemic I decided to go full force in writing Poetry which I call Cometry which is poetry and comedy put together. After going viral on Tik Tok and Instagram I was encouraged to get on stage. Made my debut at Da Funny People Open Mic in Little Italy. Ever since then I have been performing all over the Chicagoland area and in other several cities in the United States. I also became an award winning Poet (Poetry of the Year) in 2026.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I enjoy what I do. Performing on stage is an entertaining relief. Everyone has obstacles!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Poet/Comedian and my performance name is Mr Cjstalk. I specialize in Cometry which is Poetry and Abstract Comedy put together. I am proud of creating my own lane. Not being in competition with anyone keeps my humble and satisfied. I feel set apart from others because it’s very few people that are in my category.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That I’m a big teddy bear! I have a great heart. I think with my heart. I’m mostly loving and comforting. I’m always smiling. I do love hard. I’m loyal! I’m a big Cubs fan. I’m double jointed and left handed.
