Meet De’Lisa Hollis of Heaven’s Therapy by De’Lisa, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to De’Lisa Hollis.

De’Lisa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I went to Georgia Career Institute for Massage Therapy from November 2011 to September 2012. After passing a certification test in October 2012, I received my license on December 31st, 2012. Early on, I told myself that I wanted to remain an employee; I had absolutely no desire to own a business. That quickly changed when I encountered a couple of employers who, in my opinion, were not great. Because of the experiences that I received under them, I decided that I would go into business for myself, and in October 2013, I formed Heaven’s Therapy by De’Lisa, LLC. Starting out was slow, but as the first year progressed, I begin to see more clients and attend chair massage events. Things were going great at first, but due to financial reasons, I had to apply for a full-time massage therapy position. I worked for a massage company for 8 years while working my business part-time. From June 2023 to December 2023, I felt a shift and a feeling within myself that said it was time for me to work my business full-time again, so on January 29, 2024, at 4:34pm, I clocked out for the last time; ever since then, I have been working my mobile massage business full time.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been smooth for the most part. Sometimes, I do encounter some rough patches; like when I get sick or have to reschedule clients for other reasons. When I have to reschedule a client, I try my best to rebook them as soon as I possibly can, but sometimes that can be difficult. The same goes for when a client needs to reschedule as well. Sometimes, my availability prevents a client from rebooking an appointment right away.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Heaven’s Therapy by De’Lisa, LLC?
I started Heaven’s Therapy in October 2013. When I created my massage business, I felt like there was a need for a massage therapist that traveled to the client’s home to give them their massage instead of the client traveling to the location of their massage and running the risk of undoing the work and progress that the therapist made on the client’s muscles. I considered myself a massage therapist that combines Swedish and deep tissue massage and I cater to my clients’ wants and needs. I specialize in Prenatal massage, which caters to clients that are pregnant and I also offer massages with hot stones, massages that include stretching, lymphatic drainage massage and sports massage. What sets me apart from others is the traveling aspect of my business and the affordability of my services. Brand wise, I am most proud of the fact that my massage services speak for itself. My clients inform others about how amazing they feel after their massage with me; because of that, their friends, family and colleagues book their massage appointments with me.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
