Meet Gabriel Wade of New York

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Wade.

Hi Gabriel , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Memphis, TN and grew up in Arlington, TX. I wanted to be a doctor since I was 8. I followed that path through college while also playing basketball at Oakwood University for 3 years before focusing on getting into medical school. I got into school at Howard University College of Medicine and graduated in 2009. While in medical school and college I dabbled here and there with music, rapping mostly, but only select few ever heard that era. Throughout my anesthesia residency in Oklahoma I started to study metaphysics and spiritual topics. I was raised religiously, but something about church never connected fully with me. I still have lots of close friends and family from my time in religion, but started to learn about different things in 2009 and expanding my knowledge base. Over the years that brought me to meditation while in a difficult marriage. I also used my meditation practice to help me pass my board certification exams for anesthesia. While studying and gaining more knowledge of self, I came across the science of sound. This along with other things truly changed my life. I learned how powerful sound is and how it organizes matter by frequency and vibration. After my marital separation in 2019 I was at my lowest point in life. I had always been successful and had all the answers, but this time was different. I had to dig deeper within myself. I took a reiki class in 2020 and started to offer my services to friends and family. I got such amazing results I was slightly surprised at the outcomes from “energy work”. Over the next year I started to learn the bass guitar and eventually started producing and releasing music to complement my reiki sessions and make them more personal. This changed my life forever. Since 2020 I have released over 90 songs, all geared towards healing the mind, body, and soul with intention, scientific, and spiritual knowledge. I have since worked with multiple artists around the world doing live shows and collaborative releases. I have also used my music in my medical practice, playing it preoperatively for my surgical patients. The results have been astounding. I have all but completely eliminated narcotic pain and anxiety medications from my anesthesia practice, resulting in far fewer complications and safer, more calm patients. My partner Selam and I started SoulCODE in 2023. A healing collective of musicians that has done multiple events (soulful sound baths, wellness markets, choreography collaborations, and concerts) around NYC. All with the healing energy in mind.

I am also a father of 4, which is my favorite thing to do. I love playing basketball with my kids, coaching, and teaching spiritual topics.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Divorce for the last 7 years plus a challenging marriage for 7. So the whole time I have been advancing spiritually there has been something pushing me forward towards seeking the light so to speak.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an anesthesiologist, energy healer, musician, and all around creative. I am gemini so I do everything from medicine to video and music production.

I am known for different things by different people. Some as a doctor, others as a musician, some as a father, some as a basketball player, some as a healer, some a hero, some a villain.

I am most proud of being a present father, being heavily involved with my kids their entire lives.

What sets me apart is my versatility and confidence to try something new, and attempt to be the best I can.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was always outgoing and had a lot of friends. I was an athlete and was interested in being a doctor. Mostly basketball though. I was a first team all state basketball player for 2 years in high school.
