Meet Randi Haskins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Randi Haskins.

Hi Randi, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Podcasting was never in the cards for me. I used to write poetry heavily, dimple dabbled in the music space and then one while working as a Direct Care Staff in Residential, had a photographer co working looking to shoot and edit a podcast, and a girl that was semi funny and could hold a conversation.

From there Talking Time with Randi was birthed, about 7 years ago. Where we had uncomfortable conversations and unspoken truths. At this time I was certain in order to have a likable podcast a co host was needed. Unfortunately, when he became the villain of the podcast, the chemistry became strained.

After a couple years went by, I bought the cheapest camera and microphone and began my solo podcasting career still under Talking Time With Randi- with NO structure and pure ranting, Due to life and my mouth causing some issues; I decided to take a step back and rebrand.

Finally in 2024 I stepped back on the scene as Blunt Talk Podcast, still as a solo podcaster, this time with more structure, purpose and drive. Ever since the rebrand I have interviewed some amazing artists, Qui, Fuego Base and Southside Marie to name a few. I have had the chance to add hosting music events and even hosting a radio show to my resume.

THIS REBRAND HAS BEEN EVERYTHING AND PROPELLED MY BUSINESS IN WAYS I CANNOT FATHOM. I know we are just beginning.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This road has not been easy. I started out with a co host and that relationship turned sour which has caused me to be scared to ever have a co host again. Also I have a regular life so trying to balance work, personal, creative and mom life takes a toll on me which causes me to become inconsistent or doubt that I can continue on my journey.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a solo podcaster. In a world full of podcasters I feel like what sets me apart are the vibes, segments and topics I bring to the table. I try to not engage in much POD talk and be as honest and vulnerable with my Blunt Talk Podcast family as possible.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Unfortunately, I am not that blessed to have a super big supportive community; even in my hometown HOWEVER the people I THANK ARE ALL MY LISTENERS WHO never miss an episode and my friends for being supportive along the way and motivating me in the midst of ALL my storms.

I also want to thank all of my creative peers in surrounding cities that have notices my work and collaborated with me and brought me in on some amazing opportunities.
